I think I have seen a coon and a possum in the same tree 3 or 4 times in around 34 years of hunting. It was always a tree with lots of grape vines with visible ripe or dried up grapes, giving the impression they just happened to be enjoying the same feed at the same time.

I was the guide on this cast the first coon that was "seen" with the possum was in a sycamore tree and the "coon" was over 100 feet up in that tree I never seen it now all of you know how often coons climb that kind of tree there wasn't a single vine on it either that's all im saying on it

how would you like to be winning by a good spread and on the last tree with coon seen and 19 minutes left judge couldn't stop him from winning so he scratched him and no other handler seen what he scratched him for
the call was ? took to MOH and with the judge being the only one seeing the scratching offence the handlers said they didn't see anything UKC said they had to stand behind their judge the other handlers didn't see it because it didn't happen this happened 1st round Thursday
I think this might be same judge involved in this case
the cast was shown every coon solo treed not just the judge
somebody some where wanted to make sure solo didn't advance

The fact is - This stand behind the crooked judge has got to the point if you treed your dog and got to the tree and the judge said your dog is scratched for treeing a cow when you went back to club with ? and they told you they stood behind their judge now go finish the hunt while your leaving those in the office would be questioning if it was a angus or Holstein JMO
The truth is WORLD CLASS dogs don't come around to often in a life time and when one does a you spend the time and money its not cheap promoting these dogs
UKC should go above and beyond to make sure everyone has a fair shake and if something comes up take care of it the right way and keep the confidence of the hunters
without the hunters their is no UKC we pay their payday
I think they've forgot about that

UKC does a great job most of the time but we need a way to get around isues that come up like this. I have had the same thing happen with a non hunting judge and we need some other recource to prove who is right or wrong!

Lots of top dogs just flat out got f....ed by non hunting judges. This could be done for alot of reasons. Jealousy, don't like handler or dog, or maybe these judges are paid off. UKC should have respectable judges that know the rules and have nite hunt experience. Not just who ever will do it. People are gonna stop promoting hounds in Ukc as its always been set up for certain hounds and owners at Major events. Pkc and Chkc is the hunts to attend. Good judges good people and honesty. Hunters you all need to realize who actually supports you and what you do and it sure ain't ukc. UKC takes your money and sends any Ole Joe blow out to screw you. Alot of this is because the people at ukc have no promoting experience what so ever. They've never hunted all over and paid there way to do so. Reddy has Jerry has Roger Dale Has.

I know of a dog a few years ago that on the Thursday night second round, where the dogs hunt by themselves, his dog got treed and the judge told him he didn't want to walk in there. Told him to go get his dog and come back and tell him if he had the coon. So that's what he did. 225+, move on to Friday night.

I've seen a guy at an rqe that was appointed as a judge that everyone knows was on parole from prison. And he obviously wasn't rehabilitated why he was there because less than 6 months later he was back in prison.

There was judges this year that realized they had some big winners on there cast and made the some pretty shi..y statements. These dogs never had a chance from the beginning.

I would be embarrassed if my dog backed on a coon I don't know what I would do about a Grinner. I probably wouldn't bring it up that's for sure.

By condoning the actions of their nonhunting judges UKC could be starting to drive the nails in their own coffin with everything that happened at this world hunt
They have lost a lot of the hunters trust with this one and they are convinced we're still going to be there we know what its like at the larger ukc hunts even AO is having problems with nonhunting judges
maybe 2017 the true hard hunting competition hunters should frequent the other kennel clubs larger events and see how their ran
UKC definitely not what it once was mmaybe they will open their eyes and ears

the dogs entered in the zones 600 x $100 = $60,000
approx. 60 casts in finals estimated cost of judges 60x $50=$3,000
don't know what the guides are paid
they could afford better judges
Let me say not all judges are like this. I have had the pleasure of drawing good honest judges and their out there and they definitely have my respect my hat goes off to these guys they're worth more than their getting paid I would personally like to thank each and everyone of them.
And to the crooked ones someday you'll get your reward and you and I know who you are and thanks to the internet it won't be long before your name is known by every competition hunter by what you did at this world hunt
ON the other hand if you had a good judge let the world know put out a thank you let the good ones know their appreciated

Now wait a minute guys where is all this talk about a bunch of bad judges at this hunt coming from? I'm only aware of 2 issues the whole weekend. The first, I don't know all the details, but understand a judge (and that particular judge was the only one of all of them that I would be concerned with having an issue) got in a argument with a handler over a rule. The second issue is the coon seen in tree with possum and I do not know who this judge was and it doesn't sound like he was from the area, so I don't know how he was put as a judge. But I will tell you I sat through the judges meeting Thursday night and the room was filled with very competent fair judges. Mountain Kennel, did you have any issues on your cast Thursday night?

I see it as a handler issue if they don't put a question on the card I say there is no issue. So you know of only one problem

There were several questions brought in
I might be mistaken but the judge that was questioned on Thursday nite might be the same judge with the question on Friday nite not sure but possible

My guess is because the handler never questioned the call.

No Mike I didnt I had a great cast, but I sat there while two questions came in and during both questions the only person that seen these dogs do wrong was the judge. All the other handlers were rite there. The thing that got me about these scratch offenses that were questioned is that both of these dogs were big winners and had a chance to win this hunt. UKC knows all about both questions and although I'm not the best of friends with these guys I respect there dogs and them. I also heard of several other handlers having problems with Judges. Now with this being said I had a great Thursday cast.
