I realize laws like this are designed to curb voter fraud, however, this is not the only issue. This past election cycle in my hometown revealed another problem. You see, my son and I share the same name. The only difference is he uses Jr. at the end of his name. When he moved off to college, he moved his voter registration with him. When he came back, he forgot to change it. So, I go into the polling place to cast my vote only to have the lady inform me I had already voted. The fine folks there had allowed my son to vote in my place! They did ask for his identification but only verified the address and not the date of birth. I'm all for voter ID, but it only works if it is implemented properly.
