Tip

If you use wood on the floors bevel the edges so that the gap will be wider at the bottom so nothing will stick in the cracks. Put about a one inch gap between the boards this seems to work well. Good luck-----Kenny-----

Thanks Bruce and Doug! We got all our braces on and floor joist in place today. Tomorrow our goal is to get the bubble wrap and tin in place. After that is complete we will start working on the dog houses as we can as well as laying the floor. I have gone about as far as i can til i build up some more funds. This has turned out to be quite a project and more expensive than i originally planned but it will be what i have wanted for many years, so i might as well take the time to make sure its like i want. I have figured out now to just double or triple what you think the cost will be so you aint surprised when those lumber trucks roll up. Thanks to all for checking it out and for the tips. I will try to update with a new picture tomorrow night.

More dogs are the last thing I need! There are 3 in there and 2 pups plus 1 more pup coming. My hands are full.

I made my deck 16ft by 32ft. I have shade cloth on top and a mister hose set on a timer for a few hrs during the hottest part of the day. The mister sprays about 5 ft. So the dogs can walk under it to cool off. I also have all weather fans in the back of each kennel on timers. In the winter I replace the fans with heated water bowls. And take down the shade cloth.

2x6x8 untreated pine which any place the board had a knot after 4 yrs started to rot. I went with 2x6x8 instead of 2x6x16 because it was much cheaper to use 2 8ft boards than one 16ft. Even with heavy stain. I am now going to replace those boards with treated deck boards. I used 4x4 treated lumber for the frame. The first 3 feet by the doors I added sand in the stain so it wouldn't be slippery when wet. It worked great.

Here is the updated photo's of my kennel. I put the bubble wrap under my tin to cut down on the heat and it also helps prevent the sweating. Still have not done anything more since getting the top on it.
