Oh now Mark, but that Biggert guy sure has had his name on a lot of those big winning Moonlight dogs, so doesn't that make those dogs from there . It only takes one big winner anyways ,not four . And I'm not to convinced that Coon smell the same everywhere, mine sure struggled to find one in TN . I'm ready for some better smelling, short running, Michigan Coons.

Danny don't live in mich ether lol you are right though Danny is the man but when it comes to owners names on these moonlight dogs it can be very very misleading where that dog lives spends most of its life who hunts it and started it we don't care who's name is on that paper I guess that's why we get along so well 😛

I too think that those Michigan coon smell a lot stronger. They sure are a lot easier to tree. Mr Marshall does that mean that only 2 Midnight Outlaws will be guiding their casts? But the guide does not make that much difference up in Bellevue. Almost all of them have good hunting with a bunch of coons. But having a dog that is used to treeing 3-5 coons a night is a lot different from having one that is used to treeing only one a night. I wonder why everyone wants to send their dog to the area early to get them "acclimated"? I always thought that it was because the coons smelled different. Isn't that why Shane sent Mac down to Adam's before Southern Days?

I probably started those rumors. Are you trying to say that you can't believe everything that you see on the interweb? What about what you read in that facebook that you are always talking about? I mean if it is in a book, it must be true.

NOT ALWAYS, RICHARD, TAKE EXAMPLE---

The Dates in the Cooner for National Days, page 123??

The Hunt June 30-July 2.

Then they list the activities for July 2-3 and 4 using the days Thursday to Saturday which really those dates are Saturday to Monday.

Now, had I not gone to a 1 room school house with outside restrooms, I maybe would have been confused, but I figured that it's just a God Wink to move this Hunt to APRIL.

I second a move to April...better for the dogs and the people participating in the event.

Early Practice

Richard, I always thought you guys went up early and hunted a few days ahead of time so you can line up a guide " back-up handler" or at least figure out the hot spots. Isn't that the real reason ?

Kelly, when I was younger and more competitive I went up early so that my dogs could see what the coons smelled like in that part of the country. Now I go early to get to hunt with some great people and try to help them out with their overpopulation of coons. It is a lot more about the fun and a lot less about the competition these days. My dogs have not seen a coon since February. They might have forgotten what they look like.

Oh my goodness.... And I guess that it worked.

Actually Wendy has spent most of her life in Virginia. But yes my dogs know what a Tn coon smells like even if they don't know what they look like.

Oh my goodness, I have been able to pull together a brand new version of the Va Cartel for National Redbone Days. Brent Bunch, Jared Hutcherson, Garrett Hutcherson, Blake Wheeler, Wendall Bond and myself will all be there and man are we packing some dog power. That bunch of Midnight Outlaws had better watch out. What we lack in numbers we make up for with dog power. We may not be able to win anything but they will sure know that we were there.

Tim, I didn't think that any dogs from the midwest were coming.

Add another prospect to the Va Cartel gang... Mike Mayo is coming with his Willow pup. He and Blake and Garrett are only prospects. They haven't been "patched in" yet. The Cartel just keeps growing.
