wouldn't it be great to see an all blue final 4 in the world hunt, purina race, and triple crown we can all work together with what we have and move forward by breeding our breeds best males with its best females. i'm all for helping anyone that is serious about achieving this goal. there are several nice hounds in our breed that can get the job done and do it well, but its the crazy hatred, jealousy, and pure stupidity, that keeps most of our breed in 2nd place. every dog has strengths and weeknesses in performance and in production. just imagine if we worked together to make SUPERMAN in a Blue hide how much better our breed would be for it. too many individuals want credit for something it has taken several breeders and 1000's of dogs to accomplish. its time for unity in our breed! I don't want to be part of the problem. I want to be part of the greatest team of bluetickers in history that came together and made a difference. lets put aside any personality conflicts and do this as 1 team.

humbly and sincerely

Winning!

All of these dogs mentioned should be worthy of being a true top sire. I want to say that back a few years ago, I took my top females to breed to top sires at that time, that’s about all we could hope for when trying to get to the next level. I discovered one very important thing, I didn't get the sire or the dam, I just got a pup out of them. That's something to take into consideration when breeding your fine female, you're just getting a pup not the stud. A lot goes into a making a good qualified stud and it's not just a winning record. I had probably the best female of my lifetime and raised 5 litters from 4 different studs, and I'm talking TOP studs and I never got one pup as good as her. That was when I was enlightened to the fact that top hounds are as rare as hen’s teeth and they don't just spit out their likeness with each litter. I agree that we better our chances when we breed the best we have to the best we can find or in some cases, afford. Just for instance, how much winning did JBS Chief do or SR Diamond Jim or Jet V or, I guess you get the drift. Great studs usually show up when it’s too late. That is one plus in drawing semen for later down the road, IMO. By no means am I trying to take away from all the winning records of these great hounds mentioned in this thread, just a little light on the subject in a different way. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.....Ron

Blazin Blue Bud is a very nice hound. Kip Adams did some winning with him in $KC. He produces very independent dogs that get the job done. Kip sold him to a gentleman in Louisiana and is now hunting a nice one off of Bud he calls Money that is equally as nice. I've hunted with several dogs off of Bud. They seem easy to start and you don't have to beg them to go hunting.

My best advice would be get a stud in mind and go hunt with him. You might like what you see, or you might leave scratching your head. Those lists of accolades, or what you read on here is not a replacement for seeing it for yourself.

great advice! more folks should go hunting with dogs several times before making judgement on them good or bad. too many folks telling things they haven't ever seen for themselves and that is just gossip.

Or better yet, get a stud in mind and go hunt with his offspring from different females. That will tell you what you are wanting to know.

That would be the best way to know for sure.Problem is,how many of the dogs mentioned in this post have young dogs on the ground that can score big in the hunts? The only young dogs i've hunted with,or heard about from a trusted friend, that can run up a score, have been out of Bocephus, and different females. There has to be more studs reproducing big point blue dogs.

My 2 cents is, I would check on what the pups are doing more than i would the stud dog his self. I like to start with a well bred stud dog(just becouse if you get lucky and find that nice cross they will be worth more in the long run). A fella can studie all day, month, or year and come up short many times, if you like it go do it! Before its to late.
