There is no again Richard. I am just asking. Never have heard anything but people talking on here. Figure the best way to find out is to get the answer from the man that owns her. I know little about Jake. I've talked to guys that told me Buck and Rose were redbones but I don't know anymore than that. Are you saying Jake was crossbred? I have no idea and that's why I ask. Not everyone asks questions to cause conflict. Some people just want to know facts because they are curious believe it or not. If you could tell me all about Jake's breeding that would be awesome. He was a big winner so it won't be off topic and you seem to know something. I have Jake blood in my dogs and would love to know the facts. Not campfire stories or "I heard", just facts. Thanks. Whatever Cali is there's no denying that she is a winner.

There's only been 4 maybe 5 dogs I'd classify as BIG WINNERS in the 2000's, that means won at major events CONSISTENTLY, not locally & 1 big lick.

GCH Grnitech Classy Cali
GCH Grnitech Sandy Creek Jake
Grnitech Nighty Night Moonlight Kate

I don't know anything about Jake's breeding. I just noticed that he had a lot of white on him and that is why I asked. There was a whole thread about Calli on here and someone posted her pedigree.

Tony, I seem to remember one named Mongo that was a Silver Champion but I think that he mostly just won at little events. That was a long time ago however. You might not have been born then. And there was Gr Nt Ch In It To Win It Reba. She won at a couple of pretty big UKC hunts. And there was Gr Nt Ch Trumps Tree Jammin Dixie. She won at a couple of pretty big UKC hunts and a few in that other kennel club. My memory isn't all that good anymore but I seem to remember those 3. But you are right, the ones that you listed did do some winning also.

Oh my goodness, I don't see Gr Nt Ch Jackpot Jackie on your list either? And I thought that my memory was bad.

Richard, are you part walker? You've got a lot of white on you lol. Is a dog that wins consistently in the hunts it's put in any less of a dog if it isn't put in big hunts? Some people just can't make many big hunts. Does that make their dog less of a dog than the one that's got deep pockets pushing it? Little off topic. Congrats to all you guys that are promoting and winning with these nice dogs. Hope someday I get to see one of them go. I've got a dog out Jake and got to see Kate go at the world hunt in 2007. Other than that I've just read about the others on here. Hope to see more big winners in the redbone breed in the future.

Dang, I might have a great big storm brewing if this is true. Sandy Creek Jake(walker) + Timber Jack = Cali II $$$ ,, haha ,, Maybe that walker blood is where Sadie gets her "ADHD"?

Jake x bred

I dont think its ever been a secret that Jake was a x bred,,

Just unclear if it was walker or english..

Freak was in 2 final 4 Pro hunts last yr as a 1 yr old,,hunting against dogs like Meltdown, Woody 11 and many others and beating a few of them.

She also won American days opposite sex ch scoring over 1500 plus as a 1 yr old.

Also won a UKC super slam and qualified for the grand masters drawing and hunting against top hounds one bein a ukc world ch. when she came in heat..

After raising a litter of pups and a 4 month lay up she is now ready to compete and better than ever,,

She has not proved herself to be a Big Hunt Winner yet,,,,

She has never lost a ukc cast,,,and has won some pretty major hunts..

If she gets behind the right handler,,,I pretty sure she has the ability to prove herself to be a big winner..

I've missed a few, but not to many. Little Red was a dang nice one, Jackpot proved herself as well... Larry Freak has been good to both you & Ki, Ki is a good handler, ya'll keep up the good work & keep clicking! I know for a fact Sulphur River Buck & Sulphur River Rose was 100% redbone.

Sandy Creek Jake

I have a NiteCH Male that is out of a double Sandy Creek Jake Bitch. In the 7th generation I find nothing but Redbones. Ramblin Red Ace is one of them, I know Jake had a big white patch on his chest and heard that was the reason some would not breed to him. Mike Swords

So if a dog is a big time winner its gotta be half redbone half something else. And if its full bloodded redbone it can only win back yard club hunts.

Jerry and Kevin, both SCH Mongo and SCH Danno were/are 100% Redbone. So there is hope for you. Purebred Redbones have done pretty good in UKC hunts and that is what y'all hunt anyway so y'all stand a chance if you can get the right dog.

I love to live in the past since I am all washed up now. But enough of that, who are going to be the Big Winners this summer? There will be a little hunt in Sullivan, Indiana in 2 weeks to start it off. Can Fancy, Dew, Shine or Freak pull off a win there?

What a dog she must have been. I was at the Grand American the year she won. Must have been 10 degrees and wind blowing. She was in the cast with three redbones and a walker. One of them was Ranger and the other older redbone female from NC. Also tell them what her score was at Walker Days. She blew them away. I felt heartbroke when she got killed.

Don't know

Don't know . But Jon Henry's picture was on the $KC web page a few times before he was killed. I know he was a Silver Ch. but do not know the level of hunts he won. Danno was also running the race during that time. I know they were both Silver Ch. I am hoping my Jon Jr dog has the same abilities as these two because, Jon is his daddy and Mississippi is his momma. I know she is at least a half sister to Danno through Guitars Ghost. Maybe a full sister. He is a real natural tree dog. Anyway Jon and Danno are two nice dogs that might be added to the conversation.

Crazy Man, we can add them to the conversation about dogs of the past. What big hunts did they win? Are you saying that your dog, Jon Jr is going to win a couple of Big Hunts this summer? Anyone can always add whatever they want to my "conversations". After all, it is just a bunch of "talk" anyway. We will have to wait for this summer to get "the facts".

Danno is still alive and well! And no he hasn't hit a big lick and prolly never will. But if y'all think for one minute that a dog that hits a big lick at one time is a bigger winner then one that has combined over 100 CWS i n 3 registries all over the country then y'all have problems! I'm a working man with limited funds. I'm not poor and I'm not starving but I can't afford to hit all the big hunts I'd like to. I'm hard headed and I'm gonna hunt Danno on my dime. Like it or not we re here to stay!

That is irrelevant unless you believe nobody has ever falsified papers. And I'm not saying these ones were, just making a point.

The papers as we get them stands as there are because back several years ago DNA was not used. I would say a percentage of dogs had papers put on them. I never saw a black muzzle in the redbones before Hunters Timber Chopper. So who can say unless we raised them for many generations ourselves. In the case of Timber Chopper we
can't complain because most all redbones today carries a lot of his breeding. It could have been a gene thing from many years before him. Lets leave it at that.

Black Mouthed Curr dogs, that's no secret. That's where the brains, hard Treeing abilities, and accuracy comes from. They were bred to put the meat on the table.
