Marty was up again to hunt. Mack is figuring it out. We just can't get past the # 4 as far as trees made with coon seen. If I can't see six to eight coon in trees it's not a good hunt.

Hadn't been hunting for a few nights. Steve texted me at 9:10 for a hunt. Turnt loose around 9:30 treed at 9:32. Recut treed at 750 yds, Recut treed at 4:30 yds. Coon in all the trees. Moved and casted, treed at 240 yds. Penny split from Irene & Flo. Both had a coon. Recut treed at 470, coon seen. Moved Penny strikes, Irene falls treed at 60 yds, coon seen. Moved cute Irene & Penny. They go over a mile Irene treed when we drive closer, Penny gets split 50 yds away, both with coon. I cut Flo & Irene on the way home. They go almost a mile to strike. Boo tick for a few minutes go 300 yds tree with a coon. 10 trees with coon seen. Good hunt.

Jim Combs was up for a hunt. Coon didn't want to climb. Treed one at 500 yds on the first deal. We sent on and they caught one in a drift. Next deal they ran a good track for a few minutes and caught it. Treed one at 800 yds on the next dump. Ran a good track on the next one and caught anouther one. Went 600 yds and treed anouther after a short track. Treed the next one at 400 yds. Last drop struck at 250 yds treed a coon at 390. Had a good night of hunting.

Tough getting coon treed. First cast was .8 mile and gathered the dogs a half mile from highway. Then a hole at the bottom of a tree. Treed a quick coon 80 yds from the truck. Struck quick and 170 yds to a beaver hole. Next deal Irene falls treed at 250 yds with a coon. Turnt pup loose on a roader. Ran it a couple hundred yards but didn't get treed. Last deal anouther hole at the base of a big oak.

Cast win by default doesn't seem all that exciting. If she had treed 3 singles hunting alone in the 47 minutes I would feel like she actually deserved a cast win.

Roy she worked a bad track over 600 yds before locating a tree. Coon must of come down and took off. After a couple locates she was running a good track. 300 yds to a oil pump road then over 600 yds down the road but having trouble. Some how she took it off the road 200 yds and caught it. Why didn't it climb? That would have been worth $500. I would rather have luck than a good hound on some of these hunts.

Hunted Wednesday night with Mr Combs & Bob Pollock. It was tough tracking and sure went some distance on a few tracks. Treed 3 trees with coon & the hounds drug one out of a dirt hole. Last night Phil Davis & Jeff Lovell was up for a hunt. We hunted about 3 hours and made 7 trees with coon.Hounds were split 4 times.

Phil Davis & Daryl Robinson was up to hunt the past couple nights. The hounds managed to tree 11 trees with coon last night and three tonight. Had a drawn out deal in a bean field and the guys had over a two hour drive home. Work will come early for them tomorrow. Sure enjoyed two great fellas to hunt with. I sure appreciate the help on the man cave / hunting sleep over room.

Trey Melton was up to get his pup Friday night. Marty Mailes brought John, his male from Rattler x Flo. I sure like this young dog. We treed several trees with coon. Jim Combs met us later in the night and we managed to tree a couple more trees with coon. Guess we're getting them ready for the Round up. As always, Irene in full blown heat Friday morning. Was going to use some Rebel semen on her this time but Cole had bred Daisy a full sister to Rebel semen and has 9 pups. I have plenty of good bred pups and don't need any more right now. I believe Cole may have one female left to sell.
