I got to hunt with Mac a little last year and he had a lot of mechanics that I could appreciate in a dog of his caliber. I would really like to see how he might cross on a female out of Ranger.... like maybe one of Woody's sisters for instance.

Since Mac is out of Ky Kate (Ranger x Moonlight Kate) I think that would be an aunt to nephew cross...
We sure have had some humdingers come out of the uncle niece crosses we have made the past couple years. I think there is a fella in Ky who has a dog named Rose who is double Ranger bred....hmmm

Wasn't it Mr. Alton Key that said he always had the most luck with Uncle / Niece or Aunt / Nephew crosses?? At least I remember him saying that once or twice lol

I like the idea anyway. I'm sure Mac will reproduce his likeness in short order.

Well...

Well it's has been a thought. Mandy II might just as well be considered one of Hyde's. He could have kept Old mandolin and bred her to Banjo III just as easy as I did.
I was actually checking out Woody at Holmesville this year… He reminds me of my ole Jersey Joe dog, just a shade or two darker. Woody is a good looking dog. Even asked Kelly what he thought of crossing Woody and Mandy II… One of her best traits is she is fast on the tree… In a gun fight she is what I would like to be packing. As far as dreaming and dogs that are still alive… Old Mandolin is still kicking at almost 13 years old. So Nt Ch Mandolin (3 wins toward Gr Nt.) and Woody….Ranger….Pigeon River Jim… That would be interesting. The two best cross that came off Banjo III, Heidi and Mandolin in one package. Mandolin will most likely have two grand nights out of that one litter. Jon and Mandy II. II needs one more win. Back when Tony Hall was hunting After Shock we had talked about getting Old Mandolin and him together…Did not happen. Guess I will have to do some drive time to Kentucky. Maybe...

Some of the crosses listed here look outstanding. Many I had never thought of but it sure has got my wheels turning. Keep em coming and dont forget to explain why you see potential in the cross you put down...its very interesting to hear some of the reasons. Who knows...maybe we will see some of these crosses in the future!

I would like to see Danno crossed on a good Turbo female. Don't have anything to base it on, but we need more pups out of Danno, Shorty, Turbo, etc. I think they could really help the breed.

If things go right Danno will be crossed on a Turbo female. We have a young female from Turbo and Cookies Last Chance that is really looking good right now. Also have a few females lined up off of Shorty, which is Dannos littermate.

how about a really nice outlaw female bred to Willey Boy semen, --I've been out with Willey Boy and so has Shane, big voice, go hunting coondog--about as heavy Outlaw bred as you will find. he only had maybe 14-20 pups, but some of those were the natural starter kind--maybe someone could do a dual breeding and get the pups dna'd--Shane?? just a little to think about.

Cross

Crow X t-top bred female

Crow X an outlaw/moonlight bred female

Crow X saw blade female

Crow X wigland creek flush

Guys I have had the luxury of hunting with and against Crow several times. He is gonna get treed and have a coon. He has a tendency to be alone more than with company. Crow has what i always hear everyone 'saying' the redbone breed needs more of- GO power. I don't know that I have seen or hunted with any dog from any breed that has the drive that I see in Crow. This isn't just a sales pitch for Crow either. Go hunt with him if you don't believe me. I don't know much about Cali, but I would think that would be a powerhouse cross. Billy is an excellent guy to deal with. Crow needs to be bred to more. He has many good qualities to offer the breed. I would like to see any female crossed on him, but the few I listed above were just a few that came to mind. I haven't been involved with Redbones as long as most of you guys have, but I been around long enough to see some others go and see a lot of other off colored dogs and I will bet on crow against everything I have seen that's still alive. To me, he is the type of dog you might beat one night, but you are probably gonna be lucky to beat him the next 5 or 6 times. Just very consistent. Alright, that's more than I have posted on here with all my other posts combined.

I forgot about Crow would like a cross with x Rip female
