The Mountain Lion are out there they just come out at certain times a year but they will be no mistake when you do see one because a 12 foot tall fluorescent Billary Clinton will be leading them, Lol,

They certainly exist in PA and WV. I've seen two (1983 and 2015). No mistaking what you're seeing. A neighbor got one on a trail cam (2014).

With you being in Western Maryland, I'm surprised that you haven't run across anyone that's ever seen one (how long have you lived there?). I have relatives in Garrett County. They've been seen there.

They existed long ago, and were never 100% exterminated. Maybe 95%+, but not 100%.

I will absolutely assure you that if you're hunting alone, with a single-shot .22, and see one; you won't be thinking "Gee, let's get a picture", you'll be thinking "Oh Sh**!". That's the only time that I've ever pulled my dog off a tree, and never looked up. I was getting the he** out of there!

40 Years and thousands of nights in the woods, and I've only seen one while hunting. I honestly wish that number was zero!!!

I gotta reply to this over 50 plus year in the woods in WVa I
ve seen 3 Mt.lions ,several bobcats and coyotes and never had a gun in my hands. I most likely would've taken a shot at those big cats if I had a center fire rifle as they were out of shotgun range .

I KNOW TWO GUYS RIGHT HERE IN SOMERSET COUNTY PA. THEY HUNT AND TRAP EVERYTHING COMING AND GOING. BASICALLY IN WOODS ALL THE TIME. WHILE SPOT LIGHTING DEER LEGALLY THERE THEY HAVE SEEN ONE. THEY RAN INTO A DEPUTY GAME WARDEN THAT EVE AND TOLD HIM. GUY DID NOT BELIEVE THEM. GOT UGLY.

PERSONALLY I BELIEVE THESE GUYS THEY ARE STRAIGHT UP AND HAVE NEVER GIVEN ME ANY REASON TO NOT BELIEVE EM. AND AS FOR SAYING THEY ARE A LIAR, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SAYING IT TO EITHER OF CAUSE SOMEONE WILL GET AN A$$ WHIPPIN.!!!!

MYSELF NEVER SAW ONE AND HAVE NEVER THOUGHT I HAVE. HAVE HUNTED 45 YEARS NOW ALL OVER AND FOR A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING.

HAVE A BROTHER THAT LIVES OUT IN IDAHO. HE LIVES AND WORKS FORRESTRY WHERE THEY ARE AND HAS SEEN VERY FEW AND THERE ARE ALOT OF EM THERE. HE HUNTS EVERYTHING OUT THERE FROM DEER TO WOLVES, HAS SEEN WOLVES HAS PICS AND VIDEO OF EM. HAS HUNTED THE CAT AND NEVER SEEN EM. NOW HE DOSE NOT HUNT EM WITH HOUNDS.

THEY ARE CALLED THE GHOST CAT FOR A REASON.

Yotes

That is a Howa 243 with a 10 round clip, does a great job on them fawn killer's. You can get rid of some of them yote's, and more just seem to move right back in. It's bad when your dog stop's treeing, and looks back over her shoulder to check for them, cause there yipping and barking. Then goes back to treeing again. LOL

A few more!

Do you use calls or a bait pile? I take out every one of those critters that I can.

Yote's

Yes we do call them. We also trap them. Don't use too many bait pile's, found out it was bringing more around than we already had. Got some friend's who run them with dog's. We will also drive them like deer, after deer season is over, that can be real effective if you get there travel route's figured out.
