Everybody knows Ghost is a Coondog he has proven that he can win at a elite level. The owners has stated that he is reg in UKc & Pkc as a bluetick. So my ? Is how many bluetick men would breed to him If he does have walker in him.

It wouldn't make a difference to me at all. Maybe this is something that will help both breeds. But I know for some it would take him out of the equation all together. And I agree he's 100% coondawg.

Ghost

He's a UKC /PKC registered Bluetick. He didn't say cross bred. What else does the man need to say ?

I believe most folks that like purebred dogs don't want mix bred and wouldn't breed to a mix

It wouldn't matter to me if he had walker in him I think the breed need a new outcross I do know that Grover did bred a walker bitch I think the owner is doing the right thing just breeding a select few females and I would bet there would be some Coon dogs to come out of him .

I am curious to know how does a dog that is presumably 3/4 Walker get UKC registered as a Bluetick?

Otis spunkmeyer cookies: the process is called single registration.....if dog meets breed standards ...along with several other criteria.... try searching or looking it up. It is an ethical way to broaden the gene pool... a lot go the not-so- ethical route. (paper switching)...

I'm not saying ghost was single registered, not really any of my business, I don't own him, feed him, hunt w him: seems like his owners want to be left alone..... just commenting that there are ways to do it.

Single Registration

It has been closed the last two or three years I think? The charter organization votes on it. With the X registration now I am not sure if it will ever be opened again or not?

Bishops Grover x Brookshier bred

I dont know the ghost dog but i do know the Brookshier dogs better than most and Boys let me tell ya they make coon dogs. and as far as Grover goes he was owned by a good friend of mine John Bishop and Grover was an awesome Blue dog, He was all coon dog.
I dont run Blue dogs but if i had a chance to own one of these i would jump all over it. Best of luck to Ghost and his owners. Im sure he is all coon dog just like his Parents. God Bless and Good Hunting to all.
