Just not for me that what I said I hunt hounds mostly something that furry would not hunt good in my warm climate I live in and I ain't never seen them hunt iv seen them being walked around the park and I'm nor saying they don't hunt I'm saying they look of house type dogs to me and that just looking iv seen border collies tree does that make them a tree dog not in my book but your right I don't know nothing about them except they want eat at my house because of the way they look

I never judge a book by its cover. this year I have been training one for a buddy in new York . he will be a year old in may. this pup was treeing his own squrr well at 7 months of age. then I hurt my back bad so him and I wont get out till spring again.hes smart as a wip. hes awesome in the kennel. if he barks and I say stop he listens well. he hunts most times on a dead run alone.he has charm to boot. hes just awesome and gentle with my four granddaughters. I really cant find a bad fault with this pup. other than when I first got him it looked like I had a rabbit in the kennel with his straight up ears. if my back improves theres no question I would buy a pup for ME

It makes no sense but I want a dog that looks like a traditional American hunting dog. But for a combination dog you can also consider a stevens stock cur, commonly called a stevens cur. Some of them even open on track. I like them and the busher stock too.

The stevens curs are typically smaller than the busher dogs. Some lines of stevens curs are larger than others but I can tell you which ones are larger. The busher dogs are greater in number than the stevens so you are more likely to find a busher.

try calling chad hatfield at 270 286 0076 or 270 246 1810. i'm getting the numbers from an older yearbook.
I would say that both have hugh motors. the busher are bigger and blocky and have cropped tails. the stephens have tails, smaller, and their head is a little longer

If you don't mind a little hard headed (at times), a little possessive, hard to breed (at times) and the looks....depending on how much is in there...ei 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc you cannot hardly beat putting finnish spitz in your dogs. Above are a few negatives, the positives are......

Gamey, start early, natural tree dogs, crack that mouth, good tree dogs, accurate, pressure tree dogs, endurance/stamina and grit! My buddy has had a 1/2 spitz and 1/2 feist for years and turned me on to mixing some for fun.

Here's a video of 1/4 spitz, 3/4 feist at 10 weeks old on her first squirrel hide ever seen.
