I have a bunch of knives And enjoy putting a good edge on one. But my daughter gave me a havalon and that thing is sweet. I'm still using the first blade, skinned and processed 2 gators, fileted probably 100 catfish, Skinned and processed 2 hogs. I don't skin many coon, I give most to a man that fixes them for wild game suppers. I cook a few. I have a sharpener that will put the edge back on the havalon, and I hit it a lick every once in a while. Don't like throwing good blades away.
