Last year as a 6 month old Hook ran dear all night on opening day, this year was much better. No dear he hunted hard and treed a den a pine and a slick and finally a coon on the outside. The rain was steady and the wind was blowen, had a good time with the HOOK!

Boogeyman

Hunting a 18 month old Leopard named Boogeyman. Last night two for two. Tonight two for two and a lesson on runnin deer. I thought the first track tonight was a deer because he took it about 700 yards in about 4 minutes. Then he located and started treeing. Walked in to find a 25 lb boar sitting up a 15 ft tree in the middle of a CRP field. He got to dance with that one! Hope things continue to improve with this pup, I think he's something special. Enough bragging from me because he'll for sure act stupid now. Lol. I hope everyone has a good season!

Yep, the bragging got me. He looked like a pup last night. He just couldn't pull it together. My buddies black dog looked real good though. Ol Taz went 2 for 2 in about five minutes of hunt time.

Speck

I took my 18 month old female last night, she is a litter mate to Hook. Went to a brand new to me woods and she had 2 singles and 2 dens. Left there and made another drop and had a good track to a big log pile by a new gas line and another single.. Real happy with her! Wind blowen to hard to go where I live tonight.

Tough nite!

Coon seem to move early here and lay up. Young hound made 2 dens,1 slick and three singles. Along with that, yotes came in on him and he decide to take one for a spin until the alpha surprized him. All in all,not to bad!

Buddy Hunt

Went out with my buddy Bill last night(Saturday). We took Hank and Hook and made separate drops all night long. It seemed to be some tough going most of the night but both dogs looked good for what they were working. Both ran old tracks to a few dens and both had some coon above them. Those young dogs can give us older gents a good workout on nights like that! Had a real good time.

Quick hunt last night

Hunted Panic for 2 drops last night. 1st drop found him treed in at .57 miles treed in grapevines. Had 2 looking down there. Got back to the truck and took him to another woods. Cut him in and he got treed at 308 yds with another coon and I called it a nite. The thing is about Panic is he gets treed 70% of the time with never opening on track. He will and has opened on track but for the most part they have to be hotter tracks for him to open much.Hoping that will change but the outcome doesn't look to bright as of now. Other than that he suites me fine. Good huntin,Danny G.

Nope. He's outta Coat of Many Colors. At night he looks black and tan but in the light you can see some Merle. He got a lot darker since a weanling pup. Gonna try again tonight. Two nights ago he finally loaded up on the biggest sycamore in the county and I couldnt find the coon. It WAS there but it was hiding too good. I can say that with confidence because this dog don't lie about having the coon. There I go again, open mouth and insert foot, lol. I'm gonna try again tonight, he'll probably slick on me now!
