Stud?
To the original post, look at what happened to many stains of the Walker breed. They bred the track out of them and most of them became slick treeing fools. Not all but most! my opinion most of it comes from the female so first start off with a female that's worthy of breeding. One that will improve the breed. Go at this with full pockets with no exceptions. Find the very best there is out there! Go hunt with them! Yes everyone wants to hear that dog crush a tree from locate to gun shot but to do so accurately ( as many have mentioned ) I honestly think it starts with a dog that can handle a track. Casey Bigelow probably said it best. Best dog I ever owned was by no means a great tree dog but could handle any track she came across. Cold, hot, and even lay ups. It didn't matter! She was also the most consistent and accurate dog ive ever been in the woods with. I will hopefully be able to hunt with Zero in Nov-Dec timeframe so I will have an opinion of him. From what I've HEARD and been looking into as well there's several that are nice. Zero, Leon, pink Floyd, Boomer, and Paizon. Look for what Vic Stroll said earlier. A dog that has won against big names, one that's been in the big hunts, and one that's won all over the country. Last one being important to me. Good luck in your search.
