I doubt if very many hunts are won by track speed alone.

A winner wins hunts by a combination of traits.

Maybe I just don't hunt with the fast ones but I have hunted Blue dogs for years and I can't say that I have been all that impressed with Walkers and their track speed.

Ive hunted with sone that were fast and sone that weren't.

Sort of like Blue dogs.

The slowest dog I ever saw was a Walker. He was out of Bean Blossom Buck and a Gann's Finisher female so he was pretty well bred. When hunting with three or four dogs he would be 20 minutes after the rest getting to the tree. He wouldn't catch up when a dog opened ahead of him. He would just keep doing his thing. Few times we had the coon on the ground before he got to the tree.

Well there are slow walkers but how is it that they win so much it takes a dog that can handle any type of track hot cold or no track at all there are i imagine bluticks that fit the bill but walkers consistantly produce top caliber hounds in my area bluetick hunters just breed to suit themselves not to better their breed. so all i see are the same common dogs over and over. there have to be better ones out there just not every were like i said before i like blue dogs always have they just dont impress me as far as consistantly seein top tracking hounds.
