being patient and to know how to read a pups actions is very important, never force him to do anything, encourage but don't force it. I start almost every pup all by itself. taking them for walks in the daytime is huge. once they know what a coon is i'll drive around at night and try to see one on the road and turn out on it. anything for the most part that's get them out of the kennel is a plus. One of the most important things to remember is if you use a caged coon, DON'T over due it!!! work the pup until he has reached his peak of being excited and pull him away.
