Chevy for me I have a 2006 duramax diesel with almost 240,000 miles on it. It's been around the world and back. Had it in a few places you think a toyota wouldn't go and it would climb right out of them places like it wasn't nothing

Fords is the only way to go.Though I did have a 1976 GMC and a 1974 Chevy way back in the day.Everyone makes a mistake now and then that was mine.I'm planning to get a Ford Ranger later and somehow making a 460 fit in it built it up to just take off roading .I figured if I can build up the drive line to handle a 460 that little truck with a big motor will go anywhere.I've never cared about gas milage not even at $4 a gallon gas I much rather have horsepower over economy.

67 Chevrolet short bed fleet side - toy
97 Nissan ext cab 4X4 - hunting truck
04 GMC 2500HD - pull or haul whatever I want

I have rode in Chevy trucks all my life. Liked the looks of some of the Ford trucks but couldn't get used to driving the twin I Beam, I felt like a drunk all over the road.

Yota supremacy was proven again last night. Buddy with a 02 Nissan frontier keeps sayin it'll go anywhere a yota will. Me and another buddy in a 86 yota went through a pretty nasty mud hole on a hill side on the way to the woods and the truck wanted to slide and spun a bit but went all the way through it. Needless to say the nissan wasn't so lucky. Took us a good 45 minutes to push while the other buddy layed it to the floor and finally got it out from where to was stuck. He came within inches of slidin off in a hole he wouldn't have come out of till July. Even before last night Ive seen him spin like hell in 4wd in places the yotas will go in 2wd.

I do like a yote for a hunting rig but that's about it. I'm actually looking for another one. I had a mint 87 x cab and a girl hit me and totaled it But let's face it. They are weak on power, always a head gasket here and a time n chain there. Ive had about 4 Yotes for hunting rigs but I mostly use my RZR in the tight woods and steep hills. You think you got something besides a UTV to follow me in these hills bring it.

Most of the being able to go isn't the truck it's the operator. I hunt with 2 guys that have 94 yodas and I go everywhere they go in my 97 Nissan. My daddy always said "If you have to have a 4X4 to get there you don't need to go." I changed his way of thinking 10 or so years ago when he got stuck with loaded cattle trailer behind 2wd truck going up a hill in pasture and I pulled the whole load with 95 Z-71.

4wd in the newer trucks is about useless anyway. All this electric crap. If you don't have to get out and lock the hubs you're gonna have trouble. No doubt about it. We've got an 06 Tacoma and it won't go anywhere dads 94 yota will go. Same guy drivin both of em too. We got it stuck in the snow last year and the 94 went right on down the hill past it, came back up the hill past it again, then hooked to it and pulled it out.

Toyota's will crawl and get through the steep rough stuff and bad ruts and slick mud. Ford's are ok. Chevys will spin on wet grass.

It doesn't make any difference what of a truck you have. If you don't have the right tires on it your not going anywhere
