You have to do more than "getting permission to hunt". You have to become close friends with the landowners and show interest in their land and volunteer to help with things they need done. If you have a trade (electrician, Plumber, etc, offer to do some work. I offer to do bush hogging, clearing trails, and helping anyway I can. During the holidays, I always send them a gift, card, and thank you note for allowing me to coon hunt their farm. If they like you, they will not give a stranger permission to hunt. That doesn't keep rogue hunters from hunting. You can always install game cameras. Catch em and show the pics to the landowner. That really pisses them off.

No need to get in a discussion before church. I'll just say I learned at a very young age about folks coming back. Took a guy hunting, he came back with 3 buddies when he knew I was out of town. Landowner caught him cutting fences. Blamed me for ever bringing him there. Almost lost 1,500 acres of hunting land because of it. That's why I hunt by myself 80% of the time. I hunt to hear the dogs run, not be out with "buddies". I guide casts on my own farm and very close friends places. I let them know when I have a cast in there. No problems anymore. As far as the mine mine mine comment. Yeah. It is MINE. I saved and bought my own land, and nobody's gonna disrespect it.

Guided a cast years ago at the acha little world championship. Jack leg from Tennessee gets out of the truck, finishes his coke and throws the can out in the woods. I told him to pick it up or the cast was over. People have no respect anymore. If I did that when I was a child my dad woulda back handed me.

Unfortunately the old days are gone John I miss them days to when neighbors let you and EVERYONE HUNT because that was polite thing to do. Then deer lease became a money crop and I can't say as I blame some of them for making the money from leases. Then,the coon hunters got to feeling every place was theirs and you have to be careful not to upset them now. It's just about time to hang up the dog lead,cut a hole in the waders,and let OL Blue be a house dog because this sport sure fading around my house and with the jealousy over hunting spots I realize why. One does not feel very welcome to be a coon hunter anymore.

Come to west ky,hunt my spots. All the guys will tell you I don't mind. I will even give you directions.

DOES YOUR RIGHT TO HUNT ON A FARM END WHEN THE GOOD LORD CALLS YOU HOME OR DOES IT STAY IN THE FAMILY AND NO ONE IS EVER ABLE TO HUNT IT.

FELLOWS PRIORITIES ARE TOUCH OUT OF WHACK IF YOU GETTING UPSET OVER SOMEONE HUNTING A SPOT "That's Yours".

Something worth getting upset about,
Lack of Respect and Love for God in this country
Lack of Moral compass in this country
Rampant ill will towards fellow human in this country
Child abuse,sickness,and many more

NOT A COONHUNTING SPOT.

I had gotten permission to hunt a farm last year and another guy I know got permission to hunt an adjoining farm. When he found out that I was hunting the adjoining farm. He went and cut all my bucket feeders down I was going to use to start my pups. What really got me mad was I was running pups under a year old and he was hunting two titles dogs he had bout for 5 grand. If I pay that kind of money. I wouldn't be worried about a couple 9 month old pups.

Getting started was not to hard for me. Their is a difference between starting from scratch and being born into it. The reason I think the hunts are dieing is because of the b.s that happens when some veteran handlers realize they got a rookie in cast. As far as who's hunting spot is who's I guess I figure if I pay the taxes then I got first dibs. If spot is owned by someone else and folks ask and get permission then that's there spot. It is fun to hunt and it is fun to help folks get started. It was not fun taking my little boys to our favorite spot and finding it smelling like a pet cemetery. The reason that I liked that spot was it was easy walking for kids. It was nice place for pups also. Found out later it was done by one of those whom I had helped get his start
