You have to do more than "getting permission to hunt". You have to become close friends with the landowners and show interest in their land and volunteer to help with things they need done. If you have a trade (electrician, Plumber, etc, offer to do some work. I offer to do bush hogging, clearing trails, and helping anyway I can. During the holidays, I always send them a gift, card, and thank you note for allowing me to coon hunt their farm. If they like you, they will not give a stranger permission to hunt. That doesn't keep rogue hunters from hunting. You can always install game cameras. Catch em and show the pics to the landowner. That really pisses them off.
