They are doing well and eyes are open now. They sure start to get around once the eyes get opened up. They will be ready to go around the end of March or beginning of April.

It has been a challenge for sure. I have been watching it 2 or 3 times every day. Don't want the pups to get too cold or the bitch too warm but so far so good. Good luck with your litter down there.

Good job Scott... super nice cross. Bet you a dollar that there will be future grand night champions from this litter. My favorite was that monster of a pup in the very first pic posted that is using the other pup as a pillow.

Don't think anyone would back out but who knows. She goes in and lets them nurse but they are really active already. But she puts up with them anyway.

Just got in from hunting. It is nice and warm out (34). Almost too nice. My son had school work for college to get done so I hit the woods with just Creek. She did a nice job working an old feeder track and got treed on the other side of the half frozen creek and up on the ridge. I got to her and she was turning it on. It was a den tree and I could not see it on the outside. Going to see if we can hit it all week. They weather sure looks good.

Great looking pups and I can tell you give them the best of care. What size is your whelping box that they come in and out of Scott? I haven't raised a litter in a very long time but will within the next year and need to start getting prepared and building a nice whelping box is on the list. I really like your set up. I have a couple of whelping boxes one for summer and one for the colder months up here. The one you see here is the one for the heated room that I use when it is cold out. Both of the ones I have are 4x4 and this one has a 12" side on it with a 1x4 as a rail around the perimeter so the pups don't get crushed against the wall. The Summer one I have is the same except that one has a hinged top on it also. This one has a plywood bottom that sits on a piece of 1" insulation so the cold from the floor does not effect the floor temp of the box. I try and adjust the heat to be about 70 degrees on the floor of the box. The summer one I have sitting off of the floor a couple of inches so the air can get under the box but not too high so the pups can get under it. I will use them a couple of times and disinfect them between uses and let them sit and dry out.
