I asked for the county data. Vaccines work if stored and shipped properly.

I did, just last week, that is where I got my info.

Sounds like your vet may be talking about all vaccines across the board. Ive known pups to get Parvo even tho vaccinated. Like Richard said when was the last time you heard of a dog getting rabies in the US, as compared to Asia and Africa. Guess the rabies shots work! But seeing the fox, skunks, bats, and coon rabies cases over the years I will keep vaccinating my dogs.

Im no scientist I just work in the field and know what I have seen and read. The guy asked about an unvaccinated dog getting bit. Smart thing to do is get it's shots.

Did you read my original post or are your reading comprehension skills really poor?

This is untrue. There are numerous cases of rabies reported just since 2009. Raccoons are one of the major carriers. Coonhounds are swapped and traded so frequently that they are over looked for annual shots. Every year we see hundreds sold and traded at the Grand American and I can bet only a very small percentage has been vaccinated.

There's is no excuse in not giving a $10.00 shot that in most states required
by law. Its just another bad breeding practice that the negligent and careless hound owners do that gives the ones who actually do the right thing a bad name.

Whats untrue? do you people even read before you give your opinions. Dogs are not overlooked especially coonhounds. First to get a dog liscsence you need proof of vac., also while hunting or going across state lines you had better have your paperwork. And I can bet only a small percentage of your post is true. No post, not one single post in this entire thread has said not to Vac. your dog. My original post said "just because they are Vac., doesn't mean they have immunity especially pups", MEANS get booster shots.

He said "pup", pups are typically bought at 8- 10 weeks, too early to safely vaccinate. But you did actually read that post.

Are you talking about coonhounds in the US or wild animals? How many are "numerous"? Did you get your info from the CDC?
