it's a terrible thing to see a fit, confident dog get hurt either by some freak accident or from a close encounter. Being confident, fit and willing to fight doesn't justify getting it hunt. most of my dogs have survived snakes bites but I still hate for it to happen and do everything possible to reduce the risk. As the dogs hunt, I hunt risk.
