I have paid a lot more for lights that are not as nice. Thats the second comment you have made about a sunfire product that could be taken as negative. Did they do something you didn't like? It has as longer or longer burn times as a lot of belt lights. Brighter and a lot more convenient. I wasnt sold on the cap lights either. The first ones where not even close to bright enough and the spots were way to small. There are still a lot of them out there like that but the quality ones will make a believer out of you.

I just ordered an Ultra HD last week...it is supposed to be shipped this coming week. I never thought of using the color LED as a walking light, but it sounds like a good idea. During the summer we have those big nasty extremely painful hornets that fly right up to your white light. It is worth every penny not to be bothered by them if the color LED works.
I ordered the amber color on mine because that is a color I have had experience with and it worked fine for many years. I have used red for predator calling back before I got night vision and it worked O.K. but sometimes a fox still wouldn't look at it. Based on my experience a coon might look at red faster than any other color but it is hard to see anything with red. Not a big deal because your really only looking for an eye anyway. I have also used green and it worked well for fox hunting too. I found that it was good if you were hunting in an area previously hunted. A fox would look at the green when they would shy away from red. I don't really know if there is a clear choice of "better" color to get a coon to look...I think you probably have as good a chance with one than the other. Back in the day we used lights with a rheostat so you could turn the light way down dim and that seemed to work as good as a colored lens. The other rage back then that must have fell by the wayside was the old flutter switch that made the light blink. I always thought it worked O.K. I found a lot of coon with it but I don't see it used any more.
I am curious why the guy posted above that the green on the Sunfire light is better to use as a walking light??

Bought a sunfire last year,,, I love it !!! Wanted mine on a belt , no problem, lost my pop cover last winter, Michael sent me another one. FREE !!! ( my favorite color ) It's worth 300.00 just to do business with this guy. I don't own the H.D. Ultra, but you can bet I will before fall.
