It seems that it is a big conglomeration of lines but I do believe that there is a method to the madness. One of these days we are going to have a line of All Grand Redbones.

Didnt part of their line start with Kate pups? I know they had the "nighty night" line before Kate but didnt some of their most recent ones start with Kate, or maybe it was Kate offspring?

Razor has been gone 3 years now. We have semen put away on him that we use for ourselves when we want puppies. We have a litter every 1-2 years- the youngest litter was born on April 15, 2014.

Razor is IN FACT the breed's #1 reproducer. You can try to discredit that, but you would just look foolish doing so. Until a dog comes up and bumps him from the top, he will remain there, just as his great-grand sire Ace did before him.

I do NOT get on this board anymore, in part, because I just don't indulge in the trash talking about anyone else's dogs- and Rob has NEVER been on this site because he does not use the computer-ever.

If anyone would like information on Razor, there is no better place to get it than from us. We bought Razor at age TWO. We owned him until he died, just shy of 14. Rob has hunted pups out of him since for the past 10 years. His number is 937-336-1997. You are welcome to call & ask questions if you would like info on Razor.

To everyone, enjoy your dogs, don't let anyone tell you that your line is "wrong" or "not good enough." People are full of opinions. Just find what makes you happy and roll with it. We wish everyone luck in 2014 as you bring out your young dogs and your all-stars.

God bless.

Congrats!
How is "Jeff's outlaw pearl bred? Seems to me that Razor crosses EXTREMELY WELL on the "original outlaw" strain of dogs, and I'm curious if this dog is just another fine example.

Again congratulations, and good luck in the future I'm sure you guys will do great

No, I was referring to the fact that razor and outlaw cross well together.

If you want to know the answer to what the real differences are, they had a litter born directly off razor, go buy one, then go buy one of those outlaw dogs, there is a litter off BJ coming up (direct BTK daughter) and decide for yourself what the differences are. They both will have the breeding to make it, and prolly both would make someone very happy, but I bet both dogs have different styles. Such as tree style, mouth style, hunt styles (straight line, gradual circles ect) and so on, THAT'S what I mean by different styles

Now of you are truly interested, you are more than welcome to ask me questions, but I do not feel that you really care about my answer.

Yes I'm an outlaw lover, but I'm not blind to other lines. Show me a good dog and I'll tell others about what a nice dog it is, show me a bad one and i'll ignore your posts about it.

I think Little Joe was out of Hunters Timber Chopper and Red Hattie, but I see another Coffman dog farther back called Nitech Coffman's Big Boss Man, on some of my old papers.

Does your pedigree go back far enough to show who Coffmans Big Boss Man's sire was. I was thinking he was sired by Coffmans Little Joe.

Coffman's Little Joe was out of Max Hunter's Timber Chopper who was out of Max Hunter's True Too. So Mr Hunter and the great Timber Chopper Line actually started with Hunter's True Too. I wonder why they aren't called True Too hounds. What does Hunters Timber Chopper's 4 gen pedigree look like. Was he an outcross or was he linebred? Isn't it amazing that every great kennel's line started with someone elses line.

True Too

Richard, probably a question for Danny Mclesky. Although I am pretty sure Glenn Bosely named him . The story was in the Coonhound bloodlines a few years back and told by Max Hunter, but I stayed at Glenns house a few times and can remember him telling me the same. Fellows, do we really want to go that far back. Although I have said before that almost all redbones go back to the same few dogs and that we have come a long way from the walk hunt dogs that Glenn bred. I know I had them. He had no tracker, so bred dogs to fill his needs. I think any time a dog wins consistently in big hunts or shows, or is on the reproducers list, people tend to want offspring from that dog and ask for it by the dogs name. (example) Sidearm, American Patriot, Razor Red, Yellow River, T-Top and the list goes on. I guess one of the reasons the redbone breed has lagged behind in the hunts is the jealousy that exits between owners of redbones and their inability to want to go away from their stock of dogs. This told to me by other respectable breed owners. I hope I don't exhibit that kind of attitude, although I only breed dogs for my own use. Well good luck to all. Mark Lucas
