Well I guess Merlin did hunt a BNT 1 time so I guess I could let it slide by slight margin this 1 time. haha

Only reason I'd stay with UKC rules is because every single hunt listed to qualify is a UKC hunt, but then in finals you have news rules? That seems a bit odd to me.

Jerrod does have a point though that the B&T Assoc voted for the countdown and maybe this would be sending a message?

As I said, it's a good idea and should create some buzz and I'd support it either way.

Every dog qualifies by one set of rules.
I like the thought of changing it up a little for the champion of champion hunt and thinking a little out side the box. It can change the handling a little and creates something a little different to create a little buzz. The judges would just need to remember the rule change when judging the casts.

Merlin, LOL, my only problem with merging UKC and PKC rules is that:
PKC scores 100 for strike and 100 for tree
while
UKC scores 100 for strike and 125 for tree.

When you allow 125 for 1st tree and also allow a countdown with it, it over-emphasizes 1st tree.

Personally, I still like to hear a dog strike and trail a raccoon , but placing that kind of emphasis of 1st tree creates a big advantage for silent loners... I fully recognize that a lot of people want a silent loner... Maybe that is the trend?

Silent loner- 25 strike 125 tree= 150. Honest strike dog- 50 strike 125 tree= 175. I don't see the logic behind your comment here Mark?

I didn't say I like the count down just makes things a little different.
Ok to be honest since the rules are being changed for this non sanctioned hunt I would have changed the whole scoring system and came up with rules no kennel club has, I would have went way OUT of the Box.

The same rules that are used to qualify should be used through out the event. Makes no sense to hunt by a different set of rules than the rules used to qualify.

Yep, I agree. Nice work by all involved. Even though everyone didn't always agree on details, it's a good idea and glad it passed....

Notice

This was not the only program that got passed.
Don't throw away your fall newsletter open it up and check it out.
There is now a program started that passed the membership meeting to keep the whif program fully funded.
This might take a couple years to get up to speed but with some fund raising over the next few years while the new program gets up to speed the whif program should stay funded.
Also a BNT Hall of Fame program for show and hunt was voted on and passed.
Now for the Members that couldn't make it to BNT Days and don't have your year book yet. Well you can Thank your membership secretary Trina Conrad. The publisher will have your name and address of all the NO Shows at BNT Days by the end of this week. Then it will be up to the publishing company to get them sent to you.

So now with a program in place to keep the whif fully funded. A program in place to hopefully boost hunt participation in sectionals and A Hall of Fame for BNT's Hunt and Show. WHATS NEXT?????

Is it time to get a program to boost the participation in bnt's at there breed sectional shows? How about working on a cap for the (WSIF) World Show Incentive Fund and getting it funded??

Thanks for the support guys. I'm excited to the get this program rolling. For the first time in B&T History, someone is going to win at least $1,000 at B&T Days in Flora, IL next year. Who will etch their name in history and forever hold the title of the first Champion's Classic winner? It could be you, but first, you will have to go to several Sectionals and/or attend and win at some of the larger UKC events.

I understand there are Sectionals starting this weekend. Here is your chance to get a jump on the competition and make sure you have one of the 5 guaranteed Sectional Point System spots. I will be calling the contact person on all Sectionals this year to make sure that every plus point B&T winner is reported and they get credit for their hard work. As soon as I have the first report, I will start a post on this board and the ABTCHA website and keep an updated point total.

At some point this year, I will be asking our members to buy a raffle ticket to sweeten the pot for this event. I don't have any details at the moment, but I hope all of you will consider spending 5 or 10 bucks to make sure this event is successful and prosperous.

Actually, there are going to be 6 guaranteed spots now for the Sectional point system qualifiers. Since we did not have a 3 nite cast winner at B&T Days this year, that spot is now open. Let's get to those Sectionals ladies and gentlemen!
