Boy i have the same problem u do !! Frustrating !! I have a real old pair of 800 gram Lacrosse Burly boots ( no Chaps attached) with air grip sole that i have had for YEARS , now i only do wear them during winter cold months and not just for hunting, not even any abrasion on the inside of heel area. My OLD un insulated lacrosse burlys old wick brand froglegs<these boots are still fine in the heel area but the rest of them are trashed out obviously.
I have tried Lacrosse and muck both several pairs over the last 5 years- same problem EVERYTIME, Heels wear out !! and rest of the boot is fine . Im at a loss anymore with rubber boots........
Any recommendations from any ya'll ???
Thanks !!
Have you tried the Bama Socks (called something like that)? I wore out the inside of the heels in my Mucks so I duct taped them, but it got to where the tape would get so stuck to my socks that I could hardly get my boots off without tearing my socks up. Without the duct tape, I'd wear all the skin off the backs of my heels within about an hour. That was painful!
I finally listened to my husband and got a pair of the Bama Socks. Problem solved!
.....but then I lost the entire sole off one of my boots, so now I have to get a new pair of waders anyhow. LOL Been putting it off for 2 yrs but it's too wet this year to wait any longer. Might just have to take my husband's advice again and get a pair of the Reptile Chaps from Nite-Time Hunting Supply. Still not sure what boot I want tho'.
