Good Luck to all of the Redbones planning on going.

Danno will be there.

Danno, Crow and Shilo hunted last night. Crow got beat. Danno and Shilo drew out in the same cast and Danno won early but got beat when they went back out. They get another chance tonight.

Congrats to the guys that's showed up to play with the big boys at the nationals. That's a great job just getting there. I am hoping to go and play next year if I get a chance. .

Danno and Shilo both hunted again last night but both got beat. Oh well, they tried. No big Redbone winner this week. At least next week, we are guaranteed to have a Redbone winner.

The competition at that level is very tough. It not only takes a little luck and things going your way...but it takes a really good competition dog. Every dog that shows up there is great....and some are just truly awesome in their ability. I applaud those with redbones who gave it a shot. You know you were the underdog going in....but you went anyway....so my hats off to them.

I am sure most there had the same intentions.
Having a good dog and handler isn't enough sometimes. Things have to go your way....and you got to have a little luck. You would think its about time that a good redbone would have some luck in the nationals, super stakes, or the world hunt....but it just isn't happening for us. The more who try the better the odds. I wish more people who claim to have one of the best redbones out there would start putting their entry fees where their mouth is like Kasey, and the others who showed up to compete...
Talk is cheap....top level wins are hard....and you can't win if you don't enter!

I hope that I don't drive all of the way up there and I don't get to see some top dogs compete. The weatherman says high of 60 and low of 40. You can't beat that. You better bring a jacket for when you go back out.

Oh my goodness, I am going to have to get my winter clothes back out and repack my bag. Southern Illinois got an inch of snow late last night. But I have hunted in the snow before. It has to be better than Southern Redbone Days. I am going to leave in the morning. It may take me a couple of days to get there. I hope to get to see all of the powerhouse Redbones there.

Maybe Saturday

I may run down for the OE Saturday, mainly to visit. Flow is still
pretty fat and out of shape, maybe we can find an easy one or two.

My hair got all wet from the rain so I had to borrow a hat.
Bear and I had a great time even though Brian and Sam beat us. Brian tried his best to give the hunt to Bear but Bear did not want it. There were 10 Redbones in the Championship hunt on Friday night. I got to hunt with Cracker, Danno, Tank, Lick and Sam. This was a great hunt.
There were 5 Redbones that hunted in the OE Sat night and 3 of them drew out together, Woody, Flow and Joe. Woody won the cast with 650 +. Bear and I lost our cast Sat night in a heartbreaker right at the end. I thought that I had won until we added up the score. We treed 4 coons, 1 den, 1 slick and caught a skunk. It was an exciting cast. Boone had to go 900 yds deep and treed a coon out of hearing so he lost his cast. All in all the 5 Redbones looked pretty good against those 30 Walker dogs on Sat night.
I just saw where they hunted off the final and the dog that beat Bear and I won the whole thing...
