Ben's mom Judy was 11yrs and 10months today and at lunch she was fine, feeding time she was gone. What a fine hound she was , I could point my light across the field in the direction I wanted her to go and she knew what do. I could call her off the tree if she could her me and never ran trash treeing only one slick tail in her life.. best of all she kept me in a coon dog as she reproduced well.

Sorry for your loss Ray, never hunted with Judy but she sure put some nice Hounds on the Hardwood, you and Randy have been a friend an supporter for many years, when we lost Bean you called and offered me a pup, I will return the same offer any time..

thanks for the comment WVhoundsman.

well took Big Ben to the RGE Sat. night and got beat by a opossum/coon. How would you vote if this happen to you?
Two dogs take a track and get treed across the ditch that runs around the field -they tree on the field side of the ditch the other side of the ditch starts the woods. They are treed on a big tree with a opossum on the low limb... One of the same dog handlers find a coon in the tree across the ditch and the coon is about half way up the tree.. again big trees and if they touch its way up at the top.. one of these handlers said they treed that opossum and he said scratch us or I'll with draw.. God bless this man and his honesty wish they could be more like him... the other one said plus it up.... no arguments please on the replies or I'll just delete the post
The man that with drew was from Hampstead NC and he has my respect and friendship--- Big Kudos to him...

BUT HEY I"M PACKING A COON DOG and life goes on.

Running the Ben dog beside the four wheeler ever other night for about 3mile each time, sure helps keep the old boy in shape.

Looked at two trees the other night with a 14 month old female out of BIG BEN , one Den and the other had the coon.. Not Bad for no more than she's been hunted..

Ben had fun with a nice Grnitech this week off DD Fred -- will have some little ones around the 2nd week of MAY.
Will also breed Ben to a very heavy YR female this summer off Geoff . If you are wanting a nice pup give me a call.

The easiest to train dog I ever owned (Tar Heel Big Baby) was out of Tar JR and and a Sackett gyp. Sold him at 2 years old to Donnie Lock from Spring City Tn. and he was later sold to a gentleman in Eastern NC. Never put this young dog in a hunt but hunted him 6 days a week mostly by himself for 14 months never bothered with any off game and was so full of hunt and what a horn he had. Ive hunted several different strains of the Walker breed over the years but none could match the natural ability that this young was bred with. Its time I went back to the Yadkin River strain for a fresh start.
