But I'm sorta partial to a hound mouth and good looks. I do think jr crossed with speck produced some good ones!

Most Impactful English Stud Dog.

Hardtime Speck.

That's been my story for the last 30 years, and I'm stickin' to it! I confess: I've been under the influence (of my dogs):-)!!!

If you have heavy bred Speck dogs (25%-30%+), I'd sure like to know about them. PM me if you don't want them on the board.

TY

Briar Creek Snake made a big impact and so didnt Houidini both dogs never lived there true life. And yes without Snake there wouldnt be all the offspring who are on the reproducers list he sired more offspring who show on the list.Great blood there and second would be the Wilcox line which was some of the best blood when crossed to the Briar creek dogs!!

I remember hardtime speck as a pup I still have walker that goes back to his sire. plus English goes back to him. that bloodline has been a lot of enjoyment to me since the 70's threw current date. the main thing its what a man likes and believes in. I believe there has been a lot others in his time and since there time to me the English breed has been strong and just keeps getting better.

stud dog with most impact on English Breed

I believe that it was Boyd's Little Joe as he produced most of the females that produced a lot of the good dogs of today. Joe didn't produce many stud dogs that were great reproducers but his females made dogs like Speck, Jr, and Bruno look real good. Females are more important in reproducing than males. Stud dogs are a dime a dozen. A good reproducing female is a lot harder to come by. Just my opinion and opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one and thinks everyone else's stinks!!!!!!

stud dogs with most impact

Tack, David, How are you guys? Back to the subject - you both know that what I said is the truth. You can have a good stud dog and if someone's female doesn't throw a litter of world beaters they say the stud is no good. It doesn't matter that they have bred the female to four different studs and she never threw anything that was even close to the real deal. Get a reproducing female and you don't have to worry who you breed her to, she will throw coon dogs if they are given even a half a chance. Percentage wise Little Joe threw much better and much more real deal reproducing females than he did stud dogs. Just my opinion and you both know what I think of opinions!!!!!!!!!
