30% and 20% If its a pup just starting out then I would be willing to work with it for a while see if it improves. If its a 2 year old hound and does that on the regular I personally would cull it unless you just enjoy walking to empty trees

I didn't post this to make any one mad I am just confused dog 1 is 2 1/2 and dog 2 is 6 but this is what had got me I have raised these dogs as pups and they tree coons last year dog one was sitting at 75.66667 percent and dog 2 was sitting at 81.222 now they are acting this way I ain't figured it out, and how I done it was if walked to 5 trees and I seen a coon in 3 I wrote down 3 trees 3 coon and if other two was dens and no coon seen I wrote them 2 dens as slicks. I just don't know what has gotten into them or maybe where not been hunted in 2 months idk but usually not that big a problem.

I enjoy it when somebody says my dog says your dog is lieing!!!I shine up that den and wouldn't you know it there's rings in there!LOL.Coons live in dens but understand what some are saying. If I don't see the coon I don't count it den or not.Bluetickman wait till the leaves fall off completely and cut you a big switch.Them dogs will get the point.Jmo

bluetikman my post may come across as rather harsh but I have learned over the years to not waste time on dogs that I like personally but cant seem to get the job done. But dont get me wrong every dog has a off night or two but if I walk to empty trees all night long then im going to cull pretty quick.

IMO A DEN IS AN XCUSE to tree. There's only 1 tree worth walking too, and most know what tree that is. U disect the last 30 min. of the WORLD HUNT
( PLAY BY PLAY) and u will understand what i mean.

I agree with Matt on this one, and also about backtracking to dens.....you can tell if that is what your dog is doing.....I feel most of the time it's a legit den with a coon inside........Tim

Ain't that the truth.

If you don't have dens where you hunt you don't have coons. Where do you think they live? Either way, if a dog is quick enough and never runs a cold track, you may never make a den, otherwise you have no choice. Of course I live in the mountains of NC where our timber is actually bigger than a fence post and a dog actually has to work to find one. I'd personally rather walk 2 miles up hill to a big fat coon than a quarter to a den (so I prefer the wide hunting, super fast, hot nose hound that's 90%...if anybody has one I could use another...ha)

squallers

some people use a coon squaller at every tree. pet them up on every tree. hunt with other slick treeing junk all the time etc.
Not saying u caused any problems but some handlers can make slick treeing idiots out of anything.
