Danner bought out LaCrosse about 2-3 years ago.. It was supposed to improve LaCrosse and give the people a little more affordable boot.. I have a pair and they sure are a lot bulkier then my Pronghorn's... But they do well for me.. Comfy to walk in and no real leaks.. Unless I fall into the creek while crossing

I've had the same problems here. About the 10th time wearing them in the dew my feet get soaked!

So now I wear my Rocky's for all other hunting but coon hunting. It sucks because they are the most comfortable boot I can find.

Honestly 99% of boots are made by a machine.. Where that Machine is located doesn't have a thing to do with the quality of the boot. The biggest difference in american made boots and non american made boots is one has a person watching the machine for a breakdown making $30/hr (USA) compared to the other ones that have someone watch the machine for $5 an hour or whatever it is internatonally. It is american engineers and quality control people that determine what materials are used in making the boots. THEY determine how cheap a boot is made not international or even US companies. I work at a safety supply distributer and deal with safety toe boots almost all day. We get just as many US made boots back for defects as we do for non US made boots.. And we sell many more non US made boots also. This all depends on the company that is behind the engineering of a boot... Hands down our top selling and most repeat customers buy Timberlands nearly 2-1, with Carolina boots a distant second. We dropped Rocky brand boots about 8 years ago when they merged with Georgia boots. Georgia boot company used to make John Deere boots. Deere pulled out when the quality suffered so.. Now John Deere boots are now made by Dan Post Boot Company.. A very good company also. So in a nutshell base your decision on buying boots on the quality of the company not the origin of the machine in which made the boot.

P.S. If anyone would like any help with any questions on the maor brands of hunting and work boots I would be more than welcome to help in that regard.

Marty
