heres my take, Some coon hunters want a dog that is by himself, no matter what it takes. Figure that out any way you want, most of the time they want a gator that another dog cant tree with. If another dog trees first, they call covering when their dog blows in and runs the other dog off. They say a dog cant take the pressure when they wont stay with that mean arsed gator that needs a bullet. JMHO.

You can not bear hunt by yourself. No one wants to hunt with a ill dog and bear hunters don't have to period.

You can not pay $10 or $1,000 to cast your dog in to a pack. You have not paid your bear dog up PP and SS, your pup does not have to make it. The breeder of your bear pup more then likely will see what your pup is doing and want to bred to it down the road or will tell you to cull it, will make another cross in the Spring.

Coon hunters some think there pup has to make it.

They all don't make it. Don't waste your time you will be happier with the next one maybe.

if the ?ks , would scratch more and put some common sense into the dog leaving the tree, being treed there would be a lot less ill dogs out there.

But for those of you who like your dogs to have fang pressure, I have 1 that will not tolerate rude behavior period will not start it! he trees sitting down away from the tree, and will stop rude behavior in its tracks. so lets go hunting.

2-EXAMPLES, ex1-4 dog cast july-august 80 degrees at night all 4 dogs struck in run track 20-min all 4 dogs declared treed takes 20 minutes to get to tree, dogs are treed 50 feet from stock pond. When cast arrives at tree 2 dogs are getting drink at pond, and go right back to tree, should 2 dogs getting drink be minused ?

ex2- last summer hunting my 2 males by myself, both dogs struck after 30 min both dogs are treed head into dogs, thought i heard another hound trailing in same block of woods. Arrive at tree dog 1 treed on tree which he usually does, dog 2 treed sitting down 15 feet from base of tree which he usually does, about this time strange hound comes into tree blows dog # 1 off tree, then before i could react turns and tries to intimidate/attack dog # 2 , dog # 2 throttles strange hound and shakes him like a rag doll, strange hound then runs off sqeuling, both my dogs go back to treeing, find coon pet dogs go home. Is my dog #2 mean?

Well here I go

Never bear hunted a day in my life. My dad had more deer and fox dogs than any man ever needed. So I have a little experience with pack dogs. He never owned a dog box a day in his life just a cover over the truck bed and fed in a open pen. So what am I trying to say well he CULLED, agressive dogs were not sold ,traded, given away he just CULLED period. Yes we coon hunted ( that is when I started with B/T) also and NEVER hunted but one time with a GROWLEY dog period CULLED on the spot.
The trouble with agressive dogs now days is just like everythings else " NO ONE WILL TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS OR THEIR DOGS " My hunting buddy has put a strain on our 20 + years of hunting together because ONE of his doga is a FACE BARKING iddiot and his other one is AGRESSIVE he wont hunt them together either . Can't nor will I turn my dogs in with his. they both need to be CULLED period.
People who keep hunting those " MY DOG CAN TAKE THAT FANG PRESSURE and HE BETTER STAY PUT NO MATTER WHAT and HE WAN"T START NOTHING BUT HE BETTER NOT TAKE NOTHING EITHER. What are they saying? Well just think a minute, One #kc promotes tree adjustment WHAT IS THAT . Nope just take the bad apple out of the apple barrel................... CULL................

Maybe they just don't video the dog fights ..... of course they have rough dogs and their dogs probably get ticks, fleas and their poop stinks too.

A big ole' bear or lion sitting above your head in the daytime will tend to get your focus more than the dog next to you bumping into you .

I don't doubt their might be more consquences for ill dogs on bear ... but , they are still just dogs and most of em' are bred from coondogs.

I bear hunt and coon hunt both. Have for 40 years. same dogs on both.
There are alot more coon hunters , so you're gonna see more in coonhunting circles.

Percentage wise , they're probably about the same.
