Thanks

Just want to say thanks for the condolences on Pigeon. She was a good old girl. It's hard to believe how fast 10 years went by. She also outlived some dogs that were younger than her that I thought would be around a while longer but you just never know. Pigeon had her own style, she would tree squirrels during the day if you took her and would tree coons at night. I used her to help get pups started on drags many times. She seemed to enjoy it all, but most of all she enjoyed a good pat on the head and a good rubbing of her ears. She would always make me laugh, she loved to dig up rocks at feeding time and would bring you one I guess in trade for her food. She liked to lick the metal fence post too.....even in the dead of winter. I guess I got attached to her.

I think the funniest story is this one. I had not had pigeon but maybe a week or two and our bow season was in. I had a stand behind my house about 300 yards. The way to get to the trail that took me to my stand went right by pigeons pen at the time. So, I went by about 30 minutes before daylight and she came out to greet me as I went by. About 20 minutes after daylight, I was in my stand and I heard a deer coming pretty fast. I finally caught movement and it turned out not to be a deer but pigeon trailing me up. She made it to my tree, looked up and decided to let the world know she found me..... Like I said....she made me laugh.

Donnie, there was no connection with her paper name and her call name. When I picked her up from Ron, her name was pigeon so we just kept it. For some reason I decided to give her a fancier name on paper. Thanks for asking.
