Buying a pup from anything is a crap shoot. Hunt with a few dogs out of her and see what they're like. Seems like everyone wants a pup out of the big winning stud at the time. It's a good place to start looking but the best dog in the world might throw junk and a brood female might throw good dogs. The best way in my opinion is to hunt with some dogs out of her and see what you think.

I have a question for y'all. If you had the choice would you rather hunt with the 2 parents or hunt with the 4 grandparents or for that matter the 8 grandparents. Remember only one of the above.

maybe im different, but i put just pressure of female selection for breeding as I do males. The reason is because if you look back at some power litters of past and the dogs they produced...the female was the key,,,,Harry and Abby....Jr and Dixie.....Xjr and Jane.....In the English breed when David bred Rock and Sandy that produced Hardtime Rocky,,,,SANDY was the key...she was a super nice dog that produced some nice litter....

I think if you breed dogs that are out of a whole litter of coon dogs instead of a litter that has only 2 or 3 good dogs you are way ahead of the game.
