I had one at his age that did the same thing, and after 30 days of hard hunting and droppin coon he was a nice little dog, unfortunately I lost him throughout the winter and I cant tell you how he finished out but I'd say just keep huntin him, he's young yet

wow the last great 1 i seen was 1/2 walker.what do you chrg to finish 1 in 30 days

Hey BTW, I have seen some dogs go into a rebellious stage where it may seem as they are going backwards from how they may have started. I have seen this anywhere from 12 months old to 20 months old, I would keep him till he's at least two and see how he progresses.

What I did with my red dog when he was doing this was I kept a tablet and documented ever night. I.E., first drop tracked but didn't tree. Second drop treed hard but didn't stay, get my point. Then in months down the road you can go back and look to see how he was doing.

Also....

..... You may want to knock the coon out but don't let him have one. Ether by himself or with another dog.

Its just a pup at a year old. Its simple...just keep hunting it and dont leave it sitting in a pen. Even walks on the leash around town is good if thats the only way to keep it from sitting in the pen too much.

did u miss the part where I said I lost him over the winter and didn't get to see how he finished out? I no longer hunt dogs for other people either, to much drama that comes with it. But I said after 30 days of hard hunting and poppingcoon out to hhim he was a nice little dog, he was not finished and I had been hunting him all summer before our coon season as well

It doesnt matter the breed,it takes patience working with a young dog.a lot of people dont have any and get up tight to quick and give up,
