I haven't heard a single mention of "look at it through her eyes." Probably, the reality for your sister is that trapping and hunting that coon is inhumane. Perhaps trapping, hunting and shooting coonhounds might be inhumane in your eyes? Sounds like she sees both scenarios as similar and morally wrong.

Point is--it is highly unlikely that she thought to herself "I hate my brother, let me find a way to spite him." Her personal morals might be what guided her. That doesn't mean that I wouldn't be mad; I was royally mad when both my live traps were stolen last year after I had set them. Live and learn. Learn not to put your trap where your sister can't find it.

The posts about family are very respectable. What are your priorities? My sister burned me viciously five years ago--nasty. I barely spoke to her for three years, and then it dawned on me that I don't want to be one of those old people who have alienated themselves from their family. I sucked it up and forced myself to start a tentative relationship with her again. That's my priority.
