I hunt blueticks

But I enjoy to see good hound work my hounds suit me and I breed what I hunt and hunt what I breed,I train my own and hunt my own!there are good and bad in all breeds as we all know and other a lot of things that happen in a hounds life that make up what kind of coondog it becomes there are a lot of walkers and that's why some see more bad than good but I have seen a lot in blue ticks to and English as I have had both people need to stop crying about walker winning everything not saying they do but it apart that they treed coon to get plus points for one and they got the luck to have a good guid!and that's about 50% of winning hunts the other 50% is knowing your dog and rules, HANDLING! no mistakes but you have to start with a coondog first before you have a chance!

not hating

I used to run walkers and I loved them.my dad had an old redbone.I inherited the old redbone and stuck with redbones ever since.the walker dogs of today are nothing like I once had and I don't like how they are bred either.I won't hunt blueticks although I've seen some good ones even the bluetick guys don't get along with each other much less anyone else.jmo

A top hound is a top hound regardless of the breed, there are more top walkers than all the other breeds combined.
I grew up hunting walkers as that was what my Dad hunted. He always had a good one and hunted them until he died last year.
I always hunted with him and helped train his pups, but I have never kept walkers, will hunt any other breed just to be different.
I currently hunt a B&T and a Redbone, they are comparable to any walker dog I have hunted, but I went through a lot of pups to get them. I guess at the end of the night what does it for me is when the 3 walker guys I just beat say " That is the best B&T I ever drew" or " I never even seen a Redbone tree a coon". That's the stuff I like.
That being said when I do get beat it is usually by a walker dog, hats off to them they are the number one breed, Jim.

I'm just asking outta curiosity not hating on walkerdogs there good looking loud voiced dogs but why's it seem like they win majority of the big hunts I'm jw.
Black and Tan won the black gold pro am last night 12k is a big win I would say

I like getting on the forum and reading coon hunters argue about the breeds they run. I personally run walkers because the first dog I got that could tree a coon was a walker. I paid good money when I started hunting for so called coon house that didn't work out as described. I now stick with walkers because I don't want any accident mut breeding. I have hunted with many color of dogs and not once did we ever talk about what color was better. We just listened to our dogs and enjoyed the love of our sport. At the end of the day I consider them all coon hounds. Doesn't matter to me which trees first just as long as there is a coon.
