Fred, that's not even the same situation. The dog in the Advisor never opened. This particular dog did, in fact, open. He needs to be struck, if he isn't then he is minused next available strike position for FAILING TO CALL HIS DOG.
Remember this: whenever a dog opens more than 3 times, it HAS to be struck, NO MATTER WHAT. No exceptions. If you fail to strike the dog then it is minused not for what the dog did but for your failure, as a handler, to call your dog on or before the third bark.
Here's the more disturbing thing I see in this thread. I bet I've answered this exact same question 2-3 times in the last 6 weeks. Every time I answer it the same way and every time someone doesn't get it.
