No I've never owned him and I've been in the woods with him one time. I actually hunted with Mike Sheppard in an RQE he was hunting a female out of Piazon. I liked her independence so much I took Trixie over to see him. I have a female that is looking really nice right now out of this cross. We also have a Nite Ch too. With at least 2 more to finish out by the end of this year surely.

One thing I have seen out of the Couple of Piazon x Trixie pups is that they don't tree to tree. And when they do get tree they are there for the duration. I hunted my female Sugar, and her Nite Ch brother last night we went 70 yards they fell treed together and had the coon. They don't mind to tree together, nor do they mind to get split. Really like this cross.

Roxy is off of the Pie X Alice cross and about 20 months old now. Very independent but has started to be smarter about that than a month or so ago. When Roxy trees you can be pretty sure there will be a coon seen! She is very good about not bogging down on a tough track, I dont know how she does it but she will cut and circle and get out there and and get it going again somewhere down the road.
She does not tree just to tree, she trees coons! Very hard going 55 pound get gone get tracking and get treed young gyp.She will strike 10 yards in the woods on an old feeder track and get treed in short order or she will strike mile in if she has to. She does not pass up tracks she runs what is in front of her!
Had a good male come in and back her on a tree the other night and she handled it well and the coon was there. That was the first time she has had a dog come into her and I wasnt sure what she would do. I was very happy with what I saw!
Roxy has been in the woods 62 times total and 56 of those by herself.
This Is one of the nicest hounds I have had in the 42 years that I have been coonhunting and I have had some nice coon treers in that stretch. If I needed to I would beg and plead with Mike to get another female off that cross! This One may get me to want to go to some hunts again! Ron Jackson

I didn't start Piazon, but was told by Mark Ranucci that he was planning on shooting him when he turned 1 because he wasn't satisfied with his actions, but just before that he flipped the switch and never went back! That being said, most of his pups have been very early starters.

Thanks John, I diddn't even realize that till you pointed it out, and this year, they made the list without any help from my possum dog Abbie! lol. I was hoping that Pie would be on the current reproducers list. I know he has at least 8 titled dogs now, with 3 more very close. Not sure his pup #, but thinking around 125. Hoping with a little luck, he will be around 10 percent titled dogs by the end of the summer!

Dan Rainville hunted her in Salem,NY last nite where coons are few and far between and put a first on her. Danny told me she's startin to cover a bunch of ground to find a coon when she needs to. That's a good thing because around here, 200 yards or so and one can strike a track. Good to hear she's giving Dan some some leg stretching walks to get her off a tree! One of his older brothers, named Orion and owned by Mike Silcox, just made Nt. Ch. last week, a couple months under 2 yrs old. He was in 4 hunts total and won 3 of them, also took 3rd at the young Guns junior division at Nat. Bluetick days. I just got a heck of a good performance tonight from Orion's littermate, George. I'll have him in the hunts soon!
