Dale,

I don't have a problem with feeding dogs that aren't seeming to handle cold weather well. I have to respectfully disagree with you about feeding a healthy dog more food just to fit a person's misguided view on how much weight a coon hound should carry.

Overfeeding a healthy young dog that is just plain skinny (no prominent hip bones) that a vet has given a clean bill of health will result in only one thing. The owner will be doing more shoveling.

I've have been mixing in dry milk replacer, an ounce per dog, and my dogs are eating less feed and look better. Have a couple that are hard to keep weight on and they are very slick and healthy looking now.
