I've had the akc kennel for about 4 years..No rust no problems at all.

I'm lost! My kennels sit on a cocrete slab, 36 ft long and 16 wide. the slab has a 10 in fall from front to back and is a trialed smooth surface so water and urine runs off it fast! There hosed out often and kept clean. Just can't see why mine would rust and others wouldn't. Don't make sense to me!

We have Chain Link in our kennels. We bought Kennels Used at different times from different people. Some of the fence has different guage wire. The Heavier guaged wire one's, of course, keeps the dogs that like to chew in the kennel. We have problems with them rusting also. Wonder if coating them with a Lubricant like WD40 or a rubber coating would help?

The problem with powder coat is that it is junk today just enough put on to make a good appearance and im sure a cheap paint is used. As far as galvanized stuff goes, most of these pre made panels and such use a lower class of galvanized coating unless you have something thats class lll coating you dont have much then you start getting into wires galvanized before and after weave and on and on in ways to cut corners and keep a cheap competitive product out there. Basically unless you buy the best components around and assemble it yourself your gonna end up with something that wont last long.

Yep... that pretty much sums it up!

Even if it has AMERICAN Kennel Club on the gate, it's still made in China. And the only reason things are made in China, is to keep the material and labor costs, very cheap!

I thought about coating the bottom rail with that pvc spray or the stuff you spray on truck beds but for some reason I think ol fred would like to try to chew it then.

would there be any interest in me building some kennels.... i want guarentee against rust but will guarentee for 10 years it want rust out.... urine and metal are bitter enemies.... i can build a 8 by 16 with a devider and 2 doors and sale for about 1000 bucks.... this would be heavey gauge horse panels and heavey wall pipe frameing

my kennels are chain link for dog kennels the holes in the fence are smaller and gauge is heavier the poles along the bottom have rusted but fence is fine they were put up in 1987 when i poured my pad i put 2 in galvinize couplings just under grade where i wanted my poles and wraped them in plastic after i finshed slab took a hammer and chipped concret off of coulpings and screwed 2 in galvinized pipe in for frame it still looks great except for 1 in runner along the bottom cost a little more but 25 years later they are fine
