Thanks for all the congrats. I have been very fortunate to lead quite a few nice redbones. Chick will be on the list of the top ten for sure.

I have to say you are making me laugh with all this talk about who to breed to. Richard, Buck and Mike know this for sure, I don't know a thing about the breeding. Yall keep breeding them and send them to me and I will hunt the hair off one (if I like it).

Now, sounds like to me there are quite a few "suiters" out there and only one CHICK. Why don't we change the game around this time a see how it works. Instead of a stud fee we could have a "hussy fee". Instead of us having to take Chick to the suiter, lets open up a lottery and let the highest bidder come to Chick. I can see it now on Craigs list, Loud mouth, red headed, fast, lookin for love in Virginia. We might get all kinds of attention. We may go from the Cartel to the Brothel.

I don't know about all this breeding stuff. What do you think Kelly, Will it work? Richard, have you ever heard of such craziness before? Ok Buck, If this works out will the suiters owner take you out to the waffel house after the deed is done?

Keep me posted, I am going to go down and have a talk with Chick after while and let her know that there has been an awful lot of talk about her DNA the past two days. Well, on second thought I may not. She maight start runnin deer, treein possums and bobcats. I think I will know her answer, but I will let you know what she says.

Lightbulb I with ya.

There's a reason I have never owned a stud dog. It's because you can't control the litters. I love your idea that the stud pays the breeding fee and has to travel. Only bad part is after the deed is done they usually become delinquent dads. Truth is I have never heard of a GrNiteCh females that ever had to pay a stud fee. Travel maybe but usually they get the stuff for free. I have a young male in mind that I would put $100.00 toward the auction and I don't even own him. He meets your bloodline spec's too. ...Let the bidding begin!!!

I'm sure you guys will make a great pic ..OR ..make some good momey LOL LOLd

Voting, bidding, hussy fees, this ought to be one interesting board meeting at the cabin hunt this weekend. Richard since you are the Cartel's "hit man" I suggest no red solo cups until after the meeting is conducted it could get touchy. Lol

I know that BB's vote will be for Moose Jr. Jason, I know that your vote will be for not breeding her at all and just keep on hunting her. I know that at 3 yrs old, she is just now reaching her prime. Sally did not become a "finished" coonhound until she was 5 or 6 yrs old. We only have 3 months to make up "our" minds. This could get ugly. We will first have to elect a secretary to keep up with the minutes. Do we have anyone in the Cartel that can write? Someone is going to have to make some phone calls and do some research. Anyone that wants to make a suggestion or put in an absentee vote just PM them to me and I will bring it up at the cabin. My goodness, I sure do wish that we could talk to the Topdog now. I already have a couple. We will have 3 days at the cabin to discuss them and narrow the list and then a couple of months to do more research and come to a decision. Since Chick is only 3 yrs old, we will make a list of future prospects also. She should be able to raise 6 or 7 litters in the next 7 or 8 years. Or maybe Buck should should just sell her for $10,000 and let someone else deal with all of the decisions that will have to be made. Who to breed her to is just the start. Next we will have to have a meeting to decide who will get the pups.

A BIG congrats to the cartel.
I'm wondering how many times the future stud will change. LOL
No matter who you all settle on. It will improve the breed.
Here's to a Big Red future. Prost...

John, you know that you are an honorary member of the Cartel and have a vote also. You have been a big help in the past with hunting, transportation, boarding and feeding of the Cartel members and dogs. You can PM me your suggestions and or vote and I will see that it gets consideration also. Or you can PM them to Pastor Mike. He might be less "forgetful" of the exact wording during the meeting.

I am sure Jr. wouldn't mind helping with that deed. I guess this weekend will be Jr.'s first showing in the woods to the rest of the cartel. Hm, maybe he will make an impression. He is so big sometimes I forget that he is just a 10 month old pup.

Richard how about this? Chick crossed with the wonderdog Gus. He has everything you mentioned...How good is your standing in the cartel..see if you can make that happen

How about this??? Chick is an outcross from a linebred sire so she needs to be linebred back to something out of Sally/Rabble/Little Zack/Zack/Bomber/Rusty/Steve-O/Sweetie to make the pups prepotent and not dilute their genes. There sure are a lot of choices out there. Dave/Old Timer, what do you think? Heyward, who is Barney's mother and what is she out of? Is there an extra nice male out there who has both T-Top and Zack blood(other than her littermate Tom Tom)? Buck, you have about 3 months to make a decision.

Congratulations! Chick is a nice dog and I've seen her do some nice work. I love to hear her roll onto that tree...she is LOUD! She's a coondog even for the hard to please!

Congratulations to Jason and Andy- they have both spent lots of time getting her to where she is today. Her new title is very well deserved for both some fine folks and a very nice dog.

I'm anxious to see these proposed "baby" chicks go!
