bullet 2 worked well for me and i have a couple males here im looking to raise a few litters off of.as you know its important to limit the variables when trying to establish consistancy--when i find something that works im gonna stick to it when i can.
i am interested in a female bred like or from bullet 2 or woody--my preference has always been tight hair and alot of black..i always liked the looks of the tramp dogs, have you bred any females off or up close to him.
most importantly i trust your judgement on the breeding end--if they are good enough for you, they are good enough for me.........hook me up!(: (:
Thanks a bunch for your trust Warren that means a lot. I certainly would not be backing Woody if I didn’t truly feel he could contribute.
Woody is like hunting a clone of the original Bullet. Everything he does reminds me of him in both good ways and bad.
The number one thing is his tree style which is not what I or most like. He runs the tree just like ol'Bullet did which drove me crazy. Neither of them have/had an ill hair on them, but we both know it can lead to problems. He also puts out about the same barks per minute ol'Bullet did which was in the 65 to 75 bpm range, where Bullet II was 95 to 115 bpm.
When it comes to coat texture and color arrangement, again, almost a clone of Bullet which was real slick haired. With Bullet II being a son of June (littermate to Tramp) there was always a good chance of getting the dark color with lots of body spots because June was almost solid black, but at the same time Bullet II would throw some course haired hounds due to June. That being said, Woody's bottom side is bred more dominantly towards a tight coat, lighter colored, heavy ticked and lots of body spots.
I have bred direct daughters of tramp and granddaughters of tramp back to Bullet II, but it’s been years and I can't remember where they ended up or even who bred them.lol. I would have to look back in the files on that question.
Woody has been bred for generations to be and reproduce hounds running on jet fuel that never runs out, but has the intelligence to go with it. He is also bred for pure track driving ability that truly tries to be accurate. And as I stated in an above post, no pictures does him justice. His build really sets him apart.
Hope I answered what you were asking. If not, give Donnie or Myself a call.
I would also like to add that after Woody was Dual Granded before he was two he was not hunted until we bought him as a five year old. Donnie is doing a good job of getting him back in shape.
