yes

that is the same thing i had, and yes i can bend twist, he gave me excercises to do, i have some pain hi on my side but i think that is a pulled musal, because as you know you are doing things different then you would do it normally, at lest i am.

after 2 weeks i started taking care of my dogs and doing things a little at a time, now i'm doing everything but being carefull i do not slip or fall on ice , i'm happy i had it done, wish i would of had it last year.

i woman friend of mine from church has a serious back problem. she can hardly walk and has to use a cane. she walks with her legs kinda seperated and she stays slightly bent over. she said that she's got deteriating disk disease and there is nothing they can do for her. i ask her if she had a 2nd opinion and she did. does that sould right to you? i find it hard to believe back specialist can't do anything for her.

I ended up having a Lumbar Microdisectomy they basically shaved the bulging part of the disc away to get it off of my sciatic nerve my disc had actually ruptured and sent fragments into other parts of my spinal canal so they had to be removed as well but as soon as i woke up from surgery it was instant relief it actually felt like i had two legs again i just had the operation monday morning i'm sore as all get out and have trouble moving around but the pain i'm having now is something i can live with opposed to what it was before

My first one that's what I had done. Two weeks I was walking some outside. Next week, I fell in a dang hole. My brain said I stepped but my feet never got the message! Hurt pretty bad, but the next week I was raking hay. My next one, they went in the front, which is what they wanted to do the first time and I said no. Wish I would have let them do it right the first time. This time they cut those vertibrae out and replaced them with titanium cages. But, if you have the degenerative desease it will just find the next weak link. Now I have to have more done. It's wupped my butt! A real pain in the ###!!!!

We need to imagin and remember how things were back in the good ol' days when men had back injuries. they suffered for the rest of their life and had little relief from pain. recall the old saying" oh my acheing back" and " the man claimes to have a bad back". now much of that can be fixed or reduced, Thank GOD! A MEN

Limitations

In my experiance a few feet per day. Four or so weeks and I was making half mile. In a couple more weeks it was a mile, and so on unit I was walking 5-6 miles per day, not all at one time. There's not a doctor on earth that can tell you your limitations. Only you know when it's bad or not. Good luck, hope it heals well!!

up date

well i had my surgery on Jan.30th and last night Mar.23 was the first night i hunted since then, and it was good not to have pain in my legs , and my legs not going numbe, my back is still a little stiff and it is hard to bend over but i blame that on the 23 pounds i have gained because i have not had a smoke since i had my surgery, i just took my time and watched where i was walking.

Matt,

i know what you mean when you say that you can't wait to get back to work.My injury was work-related.Workmen's Comp laid me up for 14 months before they wouldallow me to go back to work.Talk about goin' nuts!!!Ain't but so much TV a man can watch before he starts to lose it. It got to the point that I was walking 5 miles or more a day just to get outta the house.

Well, the first few years I was kinda like you guys are discussing. I hated being in the dang house. But I'll tell you something, your back, although it's rough, hasn't got anything on those diseases. With the Lymes and West Nile it kinda makes everything 2 fold. I'm trying to get back to were I can go hunting and God Bless some dear friends of mine, the Cannons, loaning me a very gentle mule, I think I may be able to ride. These Bullet dogs needs turned loss!! And in my mind I'm ready to go. Now comes the hard part, going!!HA
