Why do you need the Advisor? This one is explained in the plainest possible language in rule 17. General Information. " Dogs at tree must be leashed". It doesn't say "dogs treed", it doesn't say "handled them if you want to", it says "MUST BE LEASHED". That means any dog judged to be at the tree must be leashed at the tree. It doesn't matter what they are doing or not doing, they are there, they get handled.

In your second scenario, dog B does not move up- he stays at 75. The advisor is clear in the interpretation of this. Most of the time the rules give the dog the benefit of the doubt- but not this time.

Thats what I thought. Thanks Simon

If dog comes into tree UKC handles them/another registery says treeing, if come in and not tree and you don't handle them and they go on they get minused and if you handle you will get scratched? man I wish these rules commities from all registries could all get together and form one set of rules for all, would sure clear up alot of questions jmo. Makes it hard for a guy to keep on top of it all Or maybe it's me??LOL Thanks Jim for all your input

No if the dog is not treeing and not declared treed he is to be handled but is not responsible for a tree he never treed on.

Then why should the dog be handled? It is obviously showing an end to the track it was on..........has to be held accountable for the strike points. Can't handle unless you run the eight or score according to the tree if the dog is at the tree before the cast arrives.

UKC. has said many times that any dog at the tree must be handled, It is very posible for a dog to be at a tree and not treeing, milling or working the ground but the judge is still going to instruct you to handle that dog if he is doing his job and knows the rules.

If the dog is there then score it one way or another.
