Guys, I still stand by my statement made earlier. However, there are times that you will run into worst than a slick handler. Friday night I drove 4 hours south, paid a $300 entry fee and got the biggest screwing I have ever taken. I was under the understanding this hunt would have non-hunting judges. When I get there, I find out at drawout time, we will have hunting judges. This hunt was designed with 3 dog cast. Well I get treed by myself and the other 2 dogs were split about 75 yards. We all go to my tree and plainly see the coon. They go to their tree and I have to walk my dog 30 seconds and cut. When I cut my dog I turn around to go to their tree and they meet me halfway and tell me they had the coon and they both seen it so it doesn't matter what I say. I walk over to that tree and it was as slick as it could be. Wouldn't even be a circle tree. It was only a one hour cast. I had 2 trees with two coon out in the open. They other two dogs did tree one coon together later in the cast. They also got credit for a coon that plainly was NOT there. That cast win was worth $831. It was a long ride home that night. I am not crying. This is only the second time something like this has happened to me in 28 years of hunting. My only point to this story is this, Altho it does not happen as much as most people claim, It does happen.
