hate to break it to you but you dont need a union to get raises and paid holidays. as for pensions, they are what are breaking companies and state and local governments around the country.
im not sure if a democrat wants to get on the subject of free loaders.
i work in a right to work state, work for a large corporation, im middle class as can be, no union, and i get 4 weeks paid vacation, 6 paid sick days, and 9 paid holidays. we did away with pension a few years back because the company saw it was unsistanable. they uped our 401k match to 7% and every year they put in a 10% profit share into the 401k and they also set up a health savings plan that will be there if you retire through the company, all as part of making up for the pension going away. we get raises each year in the amouint based upon on prior years performance. i would say that is great benefits without one shread of collective bargaining needed to get it done
