It's only by the grace of God that I am still here. I'll guess he had landed that boat 100s of times. Brings back memories of my Youth though. We could drive in daylight at 14 but if I was going hunting daddy would let me have his car at night even if I was 13. My duck hunting buddy did not show up so I decided to go by myself. I backed the boat in on lowtide and it floated off the trailer like it should but I had forgot to hook the anchor rope to the trailer. Then I realised I had not put in the plug. I figured since it was low tide and since I had on hip boots I might could wade out to it. Just before I could grab it water came over my boots . I made a lunge for the boat and caught it but my feet wouldn't touch bottom. It took a bit of doing to get those boots off with one hand so I could climb in. By then the boat was about to sink. Another duck hunter happened to show up at the landing and helped me out. My point being things can happen no matter how many times you have done them before.
