It's easy to sit in judgement and try to tear down something someone else is working hard on. You can criticize Razor's stats but, in doing so, you are criticizing the breed period, because he IS the best there has been to date. We are VERY proud of what he has accomplished and of the hard work and dedication of EVERY SINGLE PERSON that has ever hunted, shown, water raced, or field trialed a Razor pup. Razor has 34 hunting titled offspring-- 30 NTCH, 4 GRNTCHs and many, many other titled offspring.
There is a big difference between bragging and being proud. I am proud of EVERY SINGLE TITLE anyone EVER put on a Razor pup.... or a Spike pup, or Logo, or Clyde, or Deacon, or Tank, etc. etc. That is my right. For us, the buck doesn't just stop with the hunting titles. EVERY title is to be commended and supported IMO.
I rarely post on this board- mostly because the negativity never ceases to amaze me. Someone is always trying to knock someone else's dog or program. I don't really understand it. We should be spending more time supporting one another and congratulating one another on the strives we have made instead of always pointing fingers and talking nasty about someone's dog of a lifetime. It's silly. Razor has been gone for a year and a half and IS a great reproducer, was a classy dog himself, and did a lot of winning at the national level. He really has nothing more to prove.
We are not mass breeding him and then advertising his puppies daily to try to get everyone to go out and buy a Razor pup. Actually- just the opposite. We breed to his semen when we need a pup for ourselves and then, we share any extra pups that happen to be in the cross. We do not try to force him or his puppies on anyone- ever. If you don't want a pup out of him, don't own one. If you do, we'll do our best to get you one. That's pretty much it. But if I take a moment every now and then to make sure that the newcomers have a little information about the stud dog that my entire family misses every single day, back off!
Most negative comments have nothing to do with the dog that he was. Just people taking jabs to try to knock down someone else's hard work.
Usually what results from these negative jabs though is that several people reading end up calling Rob or PMing me with their support. There are usually a few that will be looking for a pup, and many that are just as tired of the nonsense as we are. Regardless, it always seems to bring us closer to at least a few hunters so I guess there's the silver lining.
For those that are ALWAYS respectful and gentlemanly/ mannerly in your replies and comments, thank you so much for your continued support. For those hoping for a pup, we do have a breeding planned for 2013. I'm not sure if it will be a Spring or Fall cross but I will update our website as we get closer.
