It would be nice to see Diamond support hunting ... or Purina or Blck Gold come up with something competitive .

But , if Diamond did that and had to either take shortcuts on their feed or hike to prices ... then there wouldn't be much point.

I'd love to see Purina make a version of ProPlan that was a little cheaper and pushed at feed stores.

If your hounds done poorly on EA you have a more serious issue with your dogs health other than the feed.

I still use it, and am still happy with it. I did feed something different for a couple weeks during the recalls, but had been feeding EA all along and that's what I went back to. My horse feed dealer orders it for me, and she charges me $30.99. There is no other feed that comes close to that in quality for that price, for MY dogs anyway. Have had folks say some pretty nasty things to me about feeding it, but I've yet to see those same folks have dogs that looked as healthy and in shape as mine do at any given time.

If the corn is an issue and you absolutely don't want to feed Diamond, Tractor Supply 4Health Performance is good too. Of course, it's also manufactured at the Diamond plant. LOL.

As far as amount fed, I average 2-2 1/2 cups for each dog a day. A couple that are high energy and hard keepers, or that are working hard, eat 3-4 broken down into two meals a day. But they are the exception, and I'd be feeding them a LOT more of other feeds.

No matter what you would like to believe, you are paying for that support of our sport everytime you buy a bag of feed from those companies that support our sport. With that being said, are they really supporting our sport or are we and they are just taking credit for it. Think about that for a moment.

What would someone say to you about feeding diamond? I do not understand. Do you mean because of the recall they could not believe you were still feeding it?

I'm still not going to feed a lower quality dog food just because they give you an opportunity to win a bag here and there.

First time i won 2 bags of black gold i thought what the heck i'll try it. Well after two months of picking hundreds of land mines the next time i won some i just walked off and left it there. No thank you. Tully got me on EA and haven't feed anything else since.

EA

From our top GRNITECH to my World Show Treeing Walker female and everyone else in between they all get EA. Mike loves the way his hounds perform in the woods and how their muscle tone and stamina last night after night. I love it because I work my show hounds nightly for several miles and the muscle tone I can achieve with EA is amazing. I have searched and searched to find a food that gives me such amazing results and so far it has been the best. When I raised a litter of pups out of Lorybell the vet told me after looking at the food she was eating NOT to change her to puppy food. I will never change a female to puppy food again! Healthiest litter I've ever had!

In part, yes, and partially just because some folks like to jack their jaws. LOL! I definitely don't try to push it on anyone. All I can speak for are the results I've had with my personal dogs, and I've been pleased. Like Lory, I've also raised young dogs and a litter of pups on it and was really happy with the results as well. I understand some folks may not want to spend that amount of money on feed, or are leery because of the recalls...but the fact of the matter is, just about all of the feed companies have had problems at one time or another. And of course, not all dogs respond well to every feed...but I'm feeding 15 of all different ages, sizes, body types, and energy levels and keeping them consistently looking the way I want them to look and able to do their jobs. I also admit, the other dogs at my place (deer dogs) eat a different brand of feed and look decent/perform well. If it was up to me they'd be eating EA at least during deer season, but the other half spends his money on that feed so that's what they get. Those are just the facts from my personal experience.

All anyone can do is try a feed they're curious about out. But the big things to remember are changes don't happen overnight, and quickly switching a dog to ANY new food (especially if it's over fed) will more than likely produce more or a little different "type" waste than you're used to seeing!

We almost lost two grown hounds due to Diamond. We also have a dear friend who DID loose his hound from it.

What you feed your dogs is your own choice. Our experience was not a great one as we choose not to relive the very expensive experience.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. For now anyway.
