He would bring more if anybody knew you or knew you had money or you always were on here talking your stuff up and making threads about e or out of the flavor of the month stud dog.. You ain't did that or got that so you will have to sell to the plain feller cheaper. That's just how it is
lol nobody in their right mind would sell a dog I described for 2500 or 3. That is the price a young started dog brings all day long. We are not talking about a started dog we are talking about a dog that has a great shot at winning every cast it is put in.

Big coon dog man! A 14 to 16 month old is not a finished dog. It could mess up any day. People with just some sence know that. Your not a beller. Just an average joe cooner. So sell that bad boy for your starie eyed dream price of 10 to 15 k. If you knew what the sob was worth. Why you start the thread?

For giggles is why I started the thread. To see what some of the guys that get on here would ask. I know what a dog of the caliber I DESCRIBED is worth. Im no average hunter either bud. I can sure as hell promise you the average hunter isnt chasing these dogs around 4 or 5 nights a week in this heat. How many average hunters you know hunt after coon season?

This scenario reminds me of an old hunter that used to live near me, he always had a couple TOP hounds and never fooled with pups. He wouldnt buy a dog younger than 3 or older than 5, said he didnt want a MIGHT BE or a HAS BEEN.

Sounds to me like what you have is a MIGHT BE.
MIGHT BE a top dog at 3
MIGHT win hunts.
MIGHT perform well with company
MIGHT get it done when hauled around the country and hunted in all conditions
The point is at 15 Mos. you have a young dog with alot of talent and the tools and he MIGHT become a top hound.
At this point you need a customer that is willing to gamble.

One right up the rd from me. A cast winner!! 3 yr old. He is what he is. Out of the winningest litters off Mojo. I can buy him cheaper than Hoosier wants for this pup that may make it and may not. 3k would be top dollar for it. Prolly want bring that. I just didn't wanna hurt your feelings.lol.

ive hunted with the dog more than once or twice. he acts like a finished dog everytime ive seen him turned loose. he gets by himself and trees coon. when he is hooked he is staying and id put $ on it. this pup has a long future in pkc thats for sure. id say a dog like that is worth as much as someone wants to pay to own him.

Thanks RHK.

I hear this talk sometimes of dogs selling for big money at a young age. So that lead me to ask if you owned a top young hound what would you ask? No need to drag my mutts into it lol

I have one that has won one Pkc hunt and has a first in ukc! 16m old. Been in 5 hunts. He can't handle hunting with mean dogs yet but will start/finish his own track quick and stay treed under pressure. Will coveryou other dogs. Will kick dirt in your face and go till treed sometimes and sometimes go out and come back to check in for a min.
I turn down $2500. I've not had one like him so im keeping him. Another buddy of mine said he would have jerk the mans hand off and he would never spend 2k on one dog period!
So its really what he's worth to you! One man may have money to burn while the other counts his pennies for gas to hunt! And just because you sell/buy a young dog for big $$$ doesn't mean its the best! Best ones I've seen was given away!
In your case your dog sounds real good and the best of luck either way! I hope it gets in someones hands that will push it hard to know what it will do.

No telling what yours would bring in Hoosiers neck of the woods. He can do all that in north Ga. He'd be a sure nuff superstar in the north country!!

A dog that is everything you have said dosen't need a price tag, and would never be posted on a board forsale. When there like that people talk and your phone rings and people will throw very very large numbers at you w/o ever seeing the dog in the woods.

This is the best post I have ever read on this board ever not getting in this at all just about all dogs in genarl just because they might be what they r now does not mean they will b that in a year a young dog can switch in a new york min but the price of the dog you r talking about is only worth what one will pay good luck with ur hound Dave

I would say he is just the average hound. Seems the guy doesn't know how to price him without everybodys help. Heck this time of year in Indiana a potlicker can tree a coon. Lol

young & talented

Ya know,I been readin this post for the past couple of days.I don't know 'bout all of you guys, but surely, most of ya have had a dog do really well in it's first year. Then all of a sudden start actin' like an idiot afterwards.I always called it the "Terrible 2's".Now,granted,not all are that way. But,I have had quite a few over the years go thru this period. Some grow out of it.Some don't. Granted Hoosier man,you may not be from Indiana, but coons are just about as thick in Ohio too.

a dog like this in my opinion if hes has it all.... ability mouth and looks will not be forsale and probably cant be bought unless someone gets really stupid.... 10,000 wouldnt touch it if it was what i liked and wanted.... its cheap to hunt a good dog if you already own it and no matter how much money you got its very hard to buy one.... most who know me know this and dont even ask lol.... i hunt blueticks and have turned down more than they will ever be worth but i just like hunting a good dog.... you figure the time it takes to make one they all to cheap

The problem with gettin more than a couple thousand for a good started dog is that as a general rule stupid people are usually also poor people.

Heck,it wasn't too many years ago,the WORLD CHAMPION sold for $20,000.Don't think I'd be spending $10,000 for a dog that young.
